@sumobats: Good point about the smaller number of applicants—the 11th would be great!

@VSGPeanut101: I guess we can hope, but we’ll just have to wait and see. Not too much longer now either way!

Am I the only one that didn’t get an official email from Yale confirming the receipt of their application and giving them details for their Eli account? I didn’t get any email. I called the admissions office mid-December and some lady who worked there emailed me my details as text.

@nausherwan96 did you apply SCEA? Also did you mean mid-November instead of mid-December? If your Eli account works, then I’m sure it was just a mishap caused by technology, such as the information getting sent to your spam folder and maybe you have a function on your account that automatically deletes spam.

@nausherwan96 it’s fine if ur Eli account is working. The e-mail WAS sent to set up the eli account and inform us about the decision date. Many other people also didn’t get official e-mails.

@nausherwan96 and good luck bro. IA u’ll get in.

If I get deferred at Yale, do you think I should send Yale an update informing them that I have completed my Pokedex since I originally submitted my application? After all, collecting each and every one of those 719 Pokemon is a pretty big accomplishment, no?

For those who didn’t realize, this is a joke. Just trying to get my stress level down :P

Haha thanks @paleselan I needed the laugh XD

How on earth am I going to last until next week?

@loyalty Even if it is too late, if you get deferred, call the admissions office and ask them to put those two achievements on your application.

For reasons I’d rather not go into, I am now fearing that my school never sent Yale my transcript. Would Yale have contacted my school or me if they never received my transcript???

You can check that on your Eli account

Is there anyone whose SAT is below 2000?

@paleselan I think that was the exposure of “not so good” sense of humor

But would a college contact the school if something was missing?

@Eljui7 When I first sent my app my score was a high 1800 but I took it a second time in November and got over 2000.

@tabularasa2468 Your eli account should say whether or not it was received. Some colleges contact the guidance counselor for missing documents but I’m not sure Yale would. On another note if they didn’t get it they would have probably told you your application won’t be reviewed until you send it in (most likely rd round).

@tabularasa2468 I would guess Yale wouldn’t. They’d probably contact you directly instead. You can check if your school sent it in or not by logging into your Eli Account and checking the Application Checklist. If you applied through the Common App (and your school did send in your transcript), there should be a little green check next to “School Report.”

@SIlenceWillFall Many thanks for the reply. Is there a separate entry on the Application Checklist for Transcripts, or is it lumped under the School Report?

@tabularasa2468 No problem! After going through the FAQ section of the Common App website, I’m fairly certain (albeit, not completely) that transcripts are part of the school report that your counselor completed. Thus, I think it’s all lumped together. Your question sent me into a little panic attack of my own

I have my interview today!! Is it weird that it is so late? I just found out about it and I’m freaking out about what that means in terms of my application status. I thought they would have finished almost all of the decisions by now!

@tabularasa2468 Yale generally does a pretty good job at chasing you for your things, from what I understand. I heard someone earlier on this thread got a phone-call from Yale because one of the recommenders was an arts’ teacher and they wanted a rec from a teacher who is in an academic subject.

@Eljui7 I never took the SAT, only the ACT.

@apesrocks Apparently not. Maybe we will be waiting until 5pm on December 16th after all…
