Yale Class of 2019 SCEA Discussion Thread

I have a final exam the day after the decisions come out. I might do that @chncsy. Then again, the curiosity will probably be killing me - so I might just check it on the 16th. I don’t know yet!

@Dannnn‌ Yeah you’re right. I’m probably going to finish school stuff first because nothing will be accomplished after finding out the decision.

@chncsy‌ When the I knew the QB email was coming on the first I had fully convinced myself that I could wait another day. I was legitimately telling people that I would check the next day.

Needless to say, the email came at 3:15, and I check at 3:18 lol

@emenya, to not look for a day (or two or week or until the paper is done) might be the most often broken promise of all time. It’s just too hard not to look. :slight_smile:

@emenya‌ lol

Good luck to everyone!

Today I had a dream, and in it I saw this forum and I checked my results and got in:)

Is there anyone who applied to Yale-NUS Round I? The results are on 10th of December which is after couple of days/

Good luck to everyone!!!

Does anyone know when will Yale release its result? Cuz some people said it should be around Dec.15/16, nd the other said Dec.12/13…

In my email, it said the evening of Dec. 16

I sincerely hope it could come out earlier…

It’s the 16th, most likely. I wish it were the 12th because I have a half day but that’s the way the wind blows.

@annaluxe was the email you got in response to an email you sent, or was there a mass email to all applicants that I’m missing?

The December 16th date was stated in the email that acknowledging receipt of the application, the same one that gave instructions to set up the Eli account.
It says…

Access Your Admissions Decision
Admissions decision will be available online via http://admissions.yale.edu on the dates listed below:
Early Action: December 16, 2014 (in the evening)
Regular Decision: March 31, 2015 (in the evening)

@VSGpeanut101 Thank you! I missed that the first time around.

I was wondering whether they might really have meant December 15, because last year the decisions came out on Monday, December 16. So maybe they meant Monday, December 15 this year and the 16 was an oversight? I haven’t heard of any other schools releasing decisions on a Tuesday.

@planner Only time will tell… ;(

Many schools release decisions on Tuesdays (and Wednesdays/Thursdays, and I have even heard of a school releasing decisions on a Sunday). I don’t think it would have been an oversight, but it is a possibility they may get apps done slightly earlier this year as they had 50 less applicants and no extension of the deadline (it was extended 4 days last year due to common app problems I believe). I would say anytime between the 11th and 16th is fair game.

While that would be a blessed relief from the anxiety and anticipation of waiting, I doubt that the admissions office made a typo.
As @sumobats suggests, there exists a possibility that the work was finished more efficiently than anticipated and an early release may happen. However, a few pages back some parents who watched their students go through the process last year (TPerry and IxnayBob, i believe) stated that while other schools released earlier than initially promised, Yale did not.
