Also, just because people who have an interview are being “considered” doesn’t mean that people who don’t get an interview aren’t being “considered.” We’re all in the same boat of being “considered.” It would be a different story if people who weren’t offered interviews never got in.
Anyone know when EA decisions come out?
December 15th, though I am unsure as to the actual time. Maybe around 5:00PM est?
Hello all, Question: Is the net price calculator for EFC on Yale’s website very accurate?
Hello, just got contacted by my interviewer! May I ask what information they would receive beforehand? (Essays, Co-curriculars, Awards, Subjects?) I don’t really want to spend too much time on the same information if my interviewer knows about them already.
@firebrand I’ve heard some mixed signals about this issue, with some students reporting interviewers who somehow knew about the background of the student. However, for the most part the general consensus is that the interviewers get very little information about us. They only get the basic information because the admissions committee does not want them to be biased prior to the interview commencing. Don’t think about what your interviewer knows or doesn’t know. Just talk about everything and anything you want. They want to see passion and commitment, so as long as you are showing that, then you’re good!
@Bleu2020 It’s an estimate. Not extremely accurate but should provide a good ballpark. If you think your number is ridiculously high and unlikely based on your income, then you probably filled something out incorrectly. That happened to me a couple of times.
Anyone have sat November still pending???
@zacle1234 , if yours are not in, then call the undergrad office and let them know. I sent my Oct scores on the 14th of Nov and it.got there a day ago. So.in your case, the scores were sent out on the 24th of Nov (from my understanding because thats when the scores were released), which means then they will probably reach in 10-12 days.(assuming it takes just as long as my scores did)
I took the November 7th Subject tests and all of my scores were received by Yale on the 24th. I agree with @Xboxgamergirl that you should call the undergrad office
@Shoumei - Doesn’t Yale not confirm receipt of subject test scores?
@glasshours I sent my previous regular SAT scores with the subject test. Since Yale confirmed receiving those two tests on the 24th I figured that they received the subject tests as well, since they were sent at the same time. I also sent the same scores to Williams, which does report the receipt of subject tests. Williams also confirmed receiving the scores.
Found this online, maybe people are interested:
Good luck to all you Yale applicants! and thanks for not applying to Penn
For subject test scores…
“The admissions office cannot confirm receipt of supplementary application materials, self-reported test scores, or non-required test scores online, via phone, or via email. For example, SAT Subject Test scores are not required and therefore will not display below and admissions staff cannot confirm receipt via phone or email.”
DO NOT CALL. You’re wasting their time. If they received your SAT I scores, hopefully they received everything else.
Hi, could someone help me? We live in China, and till now no alumnus has call my kid to do the interview yet. I know Yale says interview will not affect the application, but there is a rumor that those who were admitted from China did the interview. So is this a bad sign for my daughter?
@isaacmann , from what I understand interviews go on until tomorrow and reports for them are due on Dec 1. I dont think Yale is done making decisions given the fact that all supporting materials are also due tomorrow. I would just take that rumor as a rumor and not worry about it.
Thank you. they say only two students in China received interview invitation. I guess my daughter is more relaxed than me right now.
OK one more stupid question
My SAT Subject Tests have arrived. Do I need to call Yale and ask them if they received my scores :((
Sorry for posting all naive questions guys
I guess you could give it a try, but a previous post states that since sat subject tests are optional, Yale cannot confirm them receiving them. But I would give it a shot, who knows-maybe they will confirm.them?! Better safe than sorry…
