@6alibah Yeah, my tour guide mentioned that on the campus tour. She said they were adding two more residence halls , which means more acceptances. However, the halls won’t be built until later, so it won’t affect our class, unfortunately.
It will affect next year’s applicants, not us.
Any questbridgers get their decisions yet?
Yeah Questbridge got their decisions. I don’t know of any here. One QuestBridge applicant from my school was accepted. Hoping I can join him there.
oh my, congrats to him! I wonder if Yale released any stats on the quest bridge applicants.
The president’s daughter is also considering Yale as a member of the class of 2020
Yale received 4,662 early applications for the class of 2020, a marginal drop from the 4,693 early applications received last year. Yale also received a 19% increase in applicants from Georgia, and a 20% increase from Texas
I heard Malia is more interested in NYU and Columbia, but wherever she applies, I’m sure she’s likely to be accepted. Other than being a member of the first family, she’s also rumored to have excellent scores and grades.
Lol @mjstewart1224 even if she was a terrible student, she would still be accepted
Those are interesting stats @Xboxgamergirl If they take around 750 students as they did last year, then we’ll have about a 16% acceptance rate.
@strideforward true. But at least she’s smart. Otherwise I would be mildly bitter.
Fwiw I heard Malia really likes Brown, Stanford, Berkeley, and schools in NYC (Columbia and Barnard).
Why do people care where Malia Obama goes? It’s not like she’s a celebrity or anything.
Maybe not a celebrity, but certainly a public figure.
Hey do u guys prepare for RD in case you drop Yale (i’m pretty sure I will :() I don’t have any real interest in all my RD schools :(( It’s hard to write essays without real passion
Honestly so much of my college list is going to change based on whether or not I am accepted Early. I can only afford to apply to a few schools and if I am accepted early then I will probably only apply to my other top reach schools Can’t wait, really hoping though for either an acceptance or a rejection.
If I am accepted, great, If I am flat out rejected then it’s a sign that I should adjust my target schools. it’s the waiting I don’t like. Imagine being deferred to the waitlist, that is eternal purgatory right there.
If I am accepted early, I will wait until April to accept just to see where else I’m accepted/denied.
Luckily, I’m low-income enough to warrant waivers for my application fees, so I’ve already submitted my backup schools. None of them are subpar by any stretch of the imagination, but they don’t thrill me like Yale does.
I’m almost positive I will NOT be deferred. I am done with my secondary schooling already, (gap year) so nothing in my application will change between now and March. I am also crossing my fingers for a yes or no. Then either way, I can move on.
AHH Matched to Yale! The best of luck to y’all for these next two weeks!
Congratulations!!!
Yay @Bleu2020… the first acceptance on this thread!
