Yale Class of 2020 applicants

So many grammar mistakes on my post!! ^^^. Typing from my phone.

All in all, I am not academically stellar, so yeah- Iā€™m hoping all those things that I have done helps me

Itā€™s my dream school too. All I can say is own up to you. Either they want someone like you and youā€™ll be accepted or they donā€™t and you wonā€™t. If that happens then you are bound to meet with success at a different school that in the long run might even become a better fit. If you arenā€™t you, what are you?

Iā€™m applying to Georgia tech and some.instate schools, I get a full tuition scholarship as well. Also some top notches such as JH, Columbia, Northwestern, etc.

@MariaScott Be yourself and find your passion! I second what everyone else has been saying: just do what you love! If Yale is meant for you, then itā€™ll happen, and if itā€™s not, then youā€™ll still have a great future because of the experiences youā€™ve had in high school!

What was it before?

@kuriosmind what was it before

Portal looks exactly the same to meā€¦Lol.

ONE WEEK.

Iā€™d say make sure youā€™re presenting yourself sufficiently in your app. You could have done amazing things but if you only mention it briefly, itā€™s going to seem trivial. So pick out the most important and impressive thing and and try to capitalize on it

I recently had my Harvard interview and thought it went amazingly compared to my Yale interview. For my Yale interview I was so nervous that I glossed over a lot of facts and didnā€™t elaborate enough. I also neglected to ask my interviewer questions. I wanted to but my nerves got the best of me. So make sure when you have your interview that you are talking with heart and passion. I also feel that my ā€œWhy Yale?ā€ supplement was a bit weak. I also only took 4 AP classes in high school, whereas my HS offers more than 10. Those are the weak parts of my app. Iā€™m hoping that my extensive extracurricular involvement makes up for it

@Xboxgamergirl your accomplishments sound amazing! You seem like the perfect fit for Yale and I hope you get it. Same for everyone else too though! All of us here would make amazing students at Yale. But the nature of the game is that there is much that is out of our control. I know that we will all succeed with or without Yale. Those of us that get the honor of being accepted, take it and fly. Those of us that donā€™t, itā€™s okay, youā€™re going to succeed no matter what

@strideforward congratulations on a great interview!

@wiseguy98 The page looks different before I even log in, so I know it didnā€™t just changed for me. But after you log in, it used to have a blue stripe on the top with a picture of Yale and all of your documents have a beige background. Now it is just white with blue letters.

@mjstewart1224 I know! Iā€™m just so excited to finally know!!!

@kuriosmind My DSā€™s portal changed too. The college is probably preparing for the decision releases.

@kuriosmind and @racketnet - It changed a while ago; I donā€™t think it has anything to do with decisions being released (?? could be wrong, though). They changed the entire layout/design of their website, and the design of the portal now matches that of the rest of the website, so I think itā€™s just that.

@kuriosmind Haha mine has always been just white with blue letters. I log in on my iPad and phone, not a laptop or desktop. Maybe the mobile version looks different.

@glasshours It only changed yesterday for me and Iā€™ve been obsessively checking everyday! Good point about the design of the portal changing to match the rest of the website though.

Since my whole grade is hardcore stressing out this week (especially me), I was thinking that my classmates and I should make music playlists to listen to while awaiting decisionsā€¦ one playlist for good news and one playlist for bad news. What songs should I put on each and does anyone know of a way to make playlists collaboratively?

As requested (I took yesterday off. Had other stuff to distract me)
T-Minus 7 days until endpoint. Perhaps youā€™d consider this half a fortnight or one week. Optimism is similar to the graph of 1/x as it approaches infinity. Checking the admissions portal several times a day only perpetuates the stress :))

We are almost there!!!

speaking of ideos/songs/media, check this out: Itā€™s funny, but at the same time I feel bad for the person (youā€™ll see what I am talking about)ā€¦
