Hi was there any indication if the 60 interviews were for EWSP applicants only, or was it 60 transfer interviews by the Admissions Office total (including regular transfers and Eli Whitney)?
For everyone that got rejected, was there any opportunity to learn more about the program or get feedback on your application for next year’s cycle?
This is actually a really good question. I am like 80% sure that when they disclosed that interview number they meant just Eli Whitney students though.
Thanks for the info. I was rejected in the first round. Were any other students able to receive feedback on their application or learn more about the program from Yale representatives to help with their applications next cycle should they reapply?
Previous threads mention some received feedback after their rejections…
I’m not sure they do. From my understanding, there is no college out there that would give constructive feedbacks for rejected students. They simply don’t have time and resources to do that.
This is what helps me: I think less about the apple that accidently inspired the theory of gravity, and more about the apple I intentionally ingest (not from a vague retelling of history, but that I consciously select). How amazing that the apple I put into my body is transformed into vitamins that nourish the vitality of my body and mind? And because of that healthy choice, helps me make other positive choices. The apple and my ego become one, both because of their physical properties and the abstract fate of attraction.
We are the digestive enzyme of the universe. Those of us who choose to better ourselves through self care practices of education no matter the venue will still use our experiences (physical and abstract) to produce the next idea. We ARE the big idea. We are transformed exactly the way we are meant to be and there is no harm in rejection for exactly that.
These are some songs I play for my kids and I for self pep feelings -
Oh Yoko! - John Lennon (just replace Yoko with Yale, don’t worry about being awkward. Blasting this song and replacing Yoko is super therapeutic)
Look At Me - John Lennon (what can I say? I was attracted to the Dakota building aesthetic while in NY and did a little research)
This Will Be Our Year - The Zombies (feel good, you got this regardless!!)
And
Optimistic - Radiohead.
Alternatively, I find Caroline Shaw’s ‘Orange’ album extremely evocative of feelings I can’t make words for.
I’m actually worried that we don’t see the financial aid checklist. A number of people from the regular transfer thread can see their checklists. Practically, they wouldn’t upload the documents for rejects when regular transfer decisions come out today(extra work).
I wouldn’t be worried. I initially missed my deadline for financial aid so the checklist was never available to me. It always said “unavailable” - now it’s just blank!
Hi everyone, there’s a strong chance that decisions will be released tomorrow or the following day, and I just wanted to wish everyone good luck! Yale is the last school I am waiting on and it’s crazy to think that my transfer process is coming to end.
I hope to call some of you EW colleagues in the fall.
Good luck to you as well! I agree that it should come out on either Tuesday or Wednesday! They usually start Eli Whitney Committee a day before the regular transfer decision comes out; they should’ve started it last Wednesday. And usually take about 5-6 business days to push out the decisions, which will be upcoming Tuesday or Wednesday!
One of my interests is Ayurveda. I started rogue when I visited India many years ago and have been undergoing formal training as a practitioner this year. I like to think I can diagnose our collective vatta doshas being out of balance. We are vatta and pitta people; this process certainly asks this of us and it’s understandable that to meet it, our nervous systems take a beating. Reduce vatta and increase kapha.
Here in Connecticut, the rain has come. Soothing and to purify. To increase kapha you’ll need cozy, wet, warm. Think broth, cottagecore, bath, oxytocin. If vatta continues to escalate you can really run into some immuno white blood cell sadness. Self care and love is more important than ever. You are worth it!
Good luck gorgeous intellectuals - no doubt you all have The Right Stuff!
Let’s take a moment to appreciate possibility. I’ve been reflecting on all of the anxiety which comes with waiting, and I have come to accept that feeling anxious equates to possibility - a possibility for us to attend Yale university… and for that, I am grateful!
You all have been an enormous support system and I want to thank you all. I hope to see you all in the fall of 2021.
