YALE ESSAY. please critique. counselor hated, but i love it :?

<p>Hi</p>

<p>I actually have a few essays that I would like some advise on. I showed one of my essays to my counselor and I think she was kind of scared of me. :/ So I edited it a little bit... can you guys advise me!?</p>

<p>My GPA is really low (relatively) so I need to highlight my other parts of my personality. Please no 2014ers :)</p>

<p>WOW 2014 ur really thinking ahead…i can read it but i think you should maybe a while because most high school freshmen don’t necessarily have the experience or the understanding of life needed to write a good essay…</p>

<p>i’m 2014 and don’t want to read. but i don’t think it’s okay to just laugh off your counselor’s opinion. even if she’s a bad counselor, she has experience with admissions and can probably spot tone problems well.</p>

my counselor wasn’t thrilled with mine either but i got into my top choice, so it really depends. it’s supposed to reflect you, not your counselor, anyway.</p>
