So recently I applied for the Yale SCEA. After submitting my application in mid-October, I waited for an email with my portal. However, after going 2 weeks without obtaining an email, I called Yale on October 30th only to find out that they got my email wrong despite it being correct on my common application (they removed two letters accidentally and apparently the email exists so it went through). Any how, though I corrected it and have received my portal, I am scared that the Yale Alumni committee has sent an interview request email to the initial, wrong email and because I don’t have access to it I’ll never be able to respond. So my question is, in my situation assuming they did send an email to the initial, wrong one (fingers crossed that they didn’t and it’s just taking a while for them to set one up for me since not many people in my area apply to Yale), if they never get a response because I am physically unable to respond will it look bad and or penalize/hurt my changes of being accepted? I feel (in a non-arrogant way) that I am a qualified applicant and I would hate for my application to be tarnished because of circumstances I have no real control over.
We receive both phone and email contact details, so most interviewers will try to contact applicants through both means if they can’t reach them through one. To be safe, you should still call the AO to make sure they got the correct email info to your local ASC chair.
