Yale People, Listen Up

yeah, that's what i'm good at. i can do stitch, also. and the munchkins from the wizard of oz. sad thing is, i can't sing onkey in my own voice, but other voices are fine.

and i definitely should have picked a shorter user name.

dchari--

I'm a girl ;)

I told of my habit of throwing things in the air and catching them, which I turned into a fringe sport at one point.

I love musicals, but am a straight male. (Paradox?!)

My essay was a personal Wikipedia page about my idiosyncrasies and life story (i.e., what brought me to College X.)

That was basically mine too... except I first expressed how funny/frustrating I found it that my deans and collegeboard told us NOT to write about so many different things and how hard it is to know "who we are" at age 17.

Wait...so you did a Wikiessay?

Not in format. Just in the general feel about it.

Ah. Yeah, I thought the format would be distinctive, so I wrote an article using the HTML...which I was learning as I went. I used an infobox from the Zach Braff article, and modified it for me. I'm happy with it, though. I think it was pretty cohesive and had a solid message.

It sounds great :-) some of the criticisms/observations in my essay hopefully came off as funny, not whiny or an excuse.

anyone having difficulty sleeping? nervous? i don't want to apply to my local safety school cuz they nickel and dimed me to take a math class there. might come back to haunt me when i don't get in anywhere else. great posts though. as much as people tell me i should get into yale, i still think i'm gonna get deferred or rejected. i'll be checking the computer between speech rounds tomorrow evening haha.

Nice :-) I am so nervous, there is no way I will be sleeping.

I'm not sleeping, one part due to nervousness and another part due to a calc test tomorrow that I'm sure to fail...our teachers LOVE cramming tests in at the end of the semester...without proper instructional time.

Also, I'm on the last 30 pages of No Country For Old Men...and I can't put that down to save my life.

Although I'm applying early to Stanford, I've been peeking into the Yale boards and have I to say you all seem like an amazing group of people. I wish you all the best of luck tomorrow.

thank youuuuuuu :-)
