yeah I’m afraid between EA and LLs there is basically no room for the rest of us.
Hard numbers from year to year aren’t available. But the overall discussion about LLs seems to have increased a LOT here on the CC forums. I think people are more aware of them so they get discussed and noticed more. In my area, we did not see an increase in the nos. of LLs issued to RD applicants.
I’m just curious. I applied to Yale NUS (just because) and I just got rejected. Will this mean Yale will likely reject me too? I’m nervous now haha. 5 rejections out of 17 schools & no acceptances so far. At this rate I feel really worthless XD
Gamink348 Yale NUS has an acceptance rate of 4% and even then the schools are two seperate universities, so an acceptance at one has no bearing on the decision of the other.
And it’s only 5 of 17, I’m sure in the coming days you’d be getting a few acceptances. You still have 12 more to go and js never allow a college determine your worth as a human being. Things are crazy inside the admissions offices, so even the best of the best can get rejected. Stay positive
Also. After receiving an email from Princeton today, Ivy Decisions Day is confirmed to be the 31st. Long wait ahead of us huh? Best of luck to everyone though.
@gamink348 No one is worthless. The right school for you is out there somewhere and you’ll end up at the place that is the right fit for you. A school is not a reflection of your worth. Good luck to you.
hey guys, I heard that Yale sent out an email to all applicants about notification day but I didn’t get one… did you get it? Is it a bad sign if I didn’t?
I always check my junk mail so that wouldn’t be it…
@picozippy Are you sure it’s Yale and not Princeton?
@arabm2, I know Princeton sent out an email today but I remember reading a while back (maybe a week or more?) on the compiled notification dates thread here at CC that Yale had sent out an email confirming they were releasing decisions on the 31st.
@picozippy Oh, yeah! That email was sent back in January to all applicants. It’s titled “Important Yale Information”, I’m sure you’ll find it in your inbox.
@arabm2 ah, I see, found it. Thank you! Guess I was worrying for no reason.
Decision day is gonna be tough! :s
@gamink348 I got rejected from Yale NUS too! I was having lunch with my friend when I found out and she really helped me feel better about it. We both especially liked the sentence at the end about “our ways not crossing over at NUS or something like that”. It’s really cheesy but we found it cute. I hope you’re holding up well, and you’ve got 12 schools to go so don’t worry. You were a good student academically and an interesting person overall to have applied to Yale and other amazing schools! In the UK (where I’ve applied from) you can only apply to a maximum of 5 universities and I was so sacred I would get rejected from all of them, but so far I’ve gotten accepted from 3 of them already, which was a huge surprise. So keep your hopes up, everything you could’ve done is done now and all we can do is hope
What will you guys be doing when decisions come out?
crying
tears of joy or tears of sorrow, i know i will be crying, lol
I don’t know if I should open Yale first or last - what are you guys doing?
I think I’m going to open Yale last. It’s going to be Harvard (because if I get in, I won’t be nervous at all for the rest), UPenn, Princeton, Columbia, Cornell, Yale…then Stanford (god I want to go here so badly).
Probably have the least chance of Harvard though, because my English teacher and I thought that the UPenn, Princeton, Yale, Stanford essays were definitely the best out of all my essays.
I’ll probably do Yale last too - saving the best for last. Sigh, but it’ll only be the best if I actually get in
Probably not even going to check until the next day cuz I will be even more nervous since we all know the portals will be down and so will cough, cough CC.
Could CC actually die March 31??
