YALE RD CLASS OF 2019

anyone else received the notification message today? or was the notification sent to every applicant?

Got rejected from NYU and Duke :frowning: Hopefully Yale sees something in me that they didn’t.

@chal123  I do hope you get into Yale though. I know how you’re feeling and as I wish the best for myself, I wish the same for you. Stay positive

@hakunamatata1, @luvinbaba.Yes, got both emails today. No, it doesn’t mean anything… likely everyone did, too.

The notification was sent to all applicants.

So was the correction.

Everyone here is so supportive and I appreciate all of you guys! Decision day is almost here and I hope for the best for all of us!! [-O<

I agree, this thread is great! Not nearly as tense as the NYU thread lol (200 pages of nonsense…)

I’m gonna try and avoid cc on ivy day

CC will crash and burn on ivy day. No one will be able to like, let alone post

Harvard gives the best aid out there.use their net price calc.and see how high of an income one can earn and get financial aid,you can earn a couple of hundred thousand and still get a few bucks. If you you earn that and your are smart with your money, you can afford Harvard.

^^^ Bruh, **** Harvard lmao

I was waitlisted at UChicago which was fine, but then also waitlisted at Case Western and I started to panic because I’ve always dreamed about Yale. Apparently Case was waitlisting people who they thought were applying there as a backup, so I feel a little better. I got accepted to NYU and University of Rochester yesterday though! So my hopes are getting a little higher haha

So what other ivys are you guys head-over-heels in love with?? Besides Yale obviously lol

@Neurogirl07‌ Yale is my #1 school. I absolutely loved it. I also applied to Harvard and Cornell and really liked them both as well. I visited Brown but didn’t love it. Dartmouth just didn’t fit; I think it was too small for me or something. I would have loved to consider Columbia as well because attending a university in NYC is so appealing to me, but I had already applied to NYU and was running out of time! It’s kind of silly, but I didn’t consider Princeton or UPenn at all because I don’t like Philadelphia, PA or Princeton, NJ haha

I think that Brown, Penn, and Yale are my top three - but Yale is the school I applied EA to, so I think I liked it just a bit more. After my Duke rejection on Thursday, I accepted that it’s likely I’ll be rejected by the Ivies too :frowning:
Regardless, I think everyone here probably has some really great offers of admission, and no matter where we go, we’ll kick ass!

@alissaanne23 Don’t worry about the waitlist from Case, they’re known for doing that. Last year we had a kid from my school get rejected from Case but get accepted into Columbia, and another got rejected from Case but got into Stanford and Duke. We also had a couple others who got rejected but ended up going to WashU.

Yale is my number one. I fell in love with it on paper, and even more so when I visited. I’m so excited about the “History of Science, Medicine and Public Health” major because it is literally everything I am looking for in a course. If I’m rejected that will be one of the main things I’ll be upset about - not having the opportunity to explore such a uniquely interdisciplinary course. On Friday I was bombarded with a bunch of rejections, so I’m trying to remain level headed about what could happen on Tuesday.

@alissaanne23 (and to anyone really)

how often do you think colleges reject applicants who they think are applying as back-up? because i am very scared and confused as to why i’ve been rejected by so many schools already!

Personally, I feel that i’m a very qualified applicant for so many of those top institutions based on my well-roundedness and achievements (not trying to brag), but i am… embarrassed (is that the word?) to not have gotten into a few of them that i thought were pretty safe to assume acceptance (it probably sounds like i’m trying to brag anyway; i’m sorry).

anyone else feel this way??

And yes, i DO know that a lot of applicants are super well-rounded and accomplished as well, some a lot more so than me. but i still would have guessed that i would be accepted to at least a few more colleges by now!.. hmm… the college admissions process tho… :stuck_out_tongue:

i really would pay quite a bit of money to see the mind of a college admissions officer at work. wow - that would really take so much of the speculation and worry away!!

@fizzy110 i definitely feel ya on the rejections! it really makes me paranoid o.O
