I would appreciate input greatly. I look forward to hearing from y’all.

I think you’re a strong applicant, but a lot of kids are, so all I can say is best of luck! You good shot relative to most of the population, and probably most of the applicants!

@gibby @T26E4

Based on your scores, GPA, and ECs you have as good a chance as anyone else. Just remember that Yale is a reach for everyone. Your ECs are great. Only thing holding you back is that 3 on the AP Calc, not sure how much Yale considers AP scores.

@scgoon thanks for your insight, I’ll chance you back! Is getting the only five at your school a complement to you or an insult to the teachers??

Maybe both. Do you think my 36 on math will compensate?

@spauldinglegend Don’t worry, as long as you reach a certain threshold for test scores, admissions officers will start to look into the other parts of your application. It all comes down to your essays and how well you stand out within the crowd. In my opinion, though, you have a pretty good chance of getting in.

Good luck! :slight_smile:

As a fellow SC resident I am interested to see your outcome. No way to know what the adcom is thinking. These top tier universities are a crapshoot. Like I said, you have as good a chance as anyone else with those stats and ECs.

@azwu331 my father is a professional academic editor, will that give me a leg up with respect to essays?

Also most of my peer come petition comes from rural South Carolina… So that’s helpful. I think.

@octopushead

Does boys nation serve as a strong national award as well as the other ones listed that were germane to my major?

Normally I would agree the legacy is weak… However because of the Rhodes and his position of power within the federal government I think it will slightly debase your claim. Regardless, I talk about him a little in my why Yale. So who knows

Is being nominated for the morehead-Cain an award I should list?

Thank you for your suggestions
