To the person who said “Some of you are wayyy too confident going into this process…”

i disagree with your assumption. I think it’s better to be confident and proud of your work! If you don’t think you’ll get in, why do you even apply?!? That’s pointless and a waste of money! Yale doesn’t want kids who rely on hope and luck. They want confident kids who they know will work hard even without perfect grades.

My grades aren’t perfect, but my personality and work ethic make up for that, which shows in my recommendations and essays. You guys should be proud of your work if you know you did you’re best, and if your best isn’t good enough, that’s not the end of the world. I don’t think anyone here is trying to brag, they’re just trying to be positive, and I suggest you have the same attitude, too!

Anyway, good luck everyone and I hope to see you at Yale next fall!

ST, you didn’t start your essay yet?! That’s a big surprise. I think I speak on behalf of the entire 2015 SCEA applicant pool when I say that I hope you fail to meet the deadline so one spot opens up for someone else, haha. Just kidding =P

This is going to sound really cheesy, but the only way you can have a 0% chance of getting in is if you don’t apply.

^^^ The fact that we’re pretty much in the same place right now makes me feel a lot better. Well, I have one draft done and one draft almost done, but they’re going to need A LOT of editing.

U guys think yu only have 70/30 or 35/65 chances of accept/reject? That’s nothing.

I am pretty sure my chances to Yale are near 100.

The adcom, Jeff Brenzel, is my father. I have a 2400 on SAT’s with 10 800 on SAT II’s 26 5’s (state AP scholar) USAMO finalist, USAPho finalist native american.

1) Strike 1 = Asian
2) Strike 2 = national recognition on only one and a half things (half because it was an award, but it was like top 40)
3) Strike 3 = not well rounded
And I’m out. haha

Here’s me: White Male 4.0 2340 800 800 770, great recs, pretty good, and very personal essays, decent ECs, love to cook (unique and a great essay topic), and I interview well (have had two so far).

I guess mine’ll be 5% accept, 80% deferred, 15% rejected.
urh I’m in international student pool so I guess it’s a bit different.
Oct. SAT results are in today and they’re just so-so.
Wonder who’ll got in in my pool.

I have 2390, good sat 2 scores, great EC’s, good essays (maybe even great but then again maybe i’m being too optimistic), very good recs as well. Drawback- I’m Asian. But let’s see. i’m not gonna give myself a percentage cause i don’t know the system well enough.

My scores are kind of low compared to the rest of the CC community…770 CR 690 M 780 W. No one from my school has ever gotten accepted, as far as I know. So idk what my chances are. We’ll find out december 15 =)
