I’m so disappointed about not being contacted for an interview yet. Has everyone here who was gotten an email? I know it was stated earlier that sometimes you’re called, but while I’ve been very conscious to answer all unknown calls now, back when I first submitted my app I wasn’t so much.
I interviewed for Wesleyan on Friday and wished that the interview was with Yale because it went sooooo well and feel like an interview could really help me for Yale (despite the fact that they don’t hold that much weight). Ah well!
I did a senior interview during the summer. Does that mean I won’t get the chance to be interviewed by an alumni? I am not getting any emails on interviews.
@PicoLA I asked my interviewer if he wanted me to bring anything with me for the interview. He said that while I could bring a short resume (with grades and test scores removed), the interview is not a structured thing and it really isn’t necessary. I’ve decided that I’m just going to “go commando” and not bring a resume. I think reading things off a resume is a little contrived and the best way to show the interviewer who I am, and what I’m interested in, is just by talking to him.
I applied on October 19th, still haven’t received an interview. I’ve decided not to stress to much about it, as they say it won’t affect your decision if you don’t get one.
I’m really nervous, though. Yale is my #1 school and I really want to go but I know the chances are small. Even knowing this, I’ll still be crushed if I don’t get in. Can’t wait for decisions!
@chyaboi123 We are given your email and phone nos. There is no standard method.
I suspect email is the preferred method. What I do is send and email then text the student, introducing myself and to please see the email I just sent them. I rarely call – but that’s me.
Check your email’s spam folder.
It’ll vary depending on the interviewer you receive (if any).
You “should” have already been contacted if you’re in an area that’s covered that has enough volunteers. I think that given the fact that write ups are due on Dec 1, you may not be in one of those areas or you’ve been assigned to someone who isn’t on the ball.
Yale (obv), Harvard, Princeton, Stanford, Brown, Georgetown, Tufts, William & Mary, Duke, Richmond, Davidson, 2 in-state (USC and Clemson)
Also I just had my interview… didn’t go as well as I would’ve liked but it’s over now at least! I had to do it via Skype and I really wish I’d been given the opportunity to do it in person.
Yale (ofc), UVA (in-state), Vassar, Wesleyan, Pomona, and Brown for sure. Swarthmore, William and Mary, URichmond and UChicago are all maybes/probablies!
