My school typically has a 40% acceptance rate for those that apply early to UPenn…all five that applied were rejected. Makes me feel better since I was going to mentally kick myself for not going UPenn early if I was rejected from Yale.
I told everyone because I know I’m not going to be judged. Most people in my grade like me because I’m not one of those obnoxious, pretentious people who thinks so high of themselves. Everyone’s rooting for me to get in, they genuinely want me to go, but in the end if I don’t get in what can people say? That I didn’t get into one of the best universities in the world? So I was comfortable with telling people because my classmates are pretty supportive
It also helps that you don’t have another kid applying early against you ^ I have five and the person applying engineering against me would have held it against me forever if he had gotten in when I didn’t. He’s such a jerk…told me he’s only interested in Yale because he has a friend there with tons of weed who can “hook him up”
@yalehopeful017 yeah that’s messed up. Oh well, that’s his problem. Hopefully the person who read his application was able to see right through him. And yeah, I agree that the supportiveness ends when people are competing against you for the same thing.
What time on Thursday do decisions come out?

You have no idea @coolcheesebagel. I’ve had to listen to him brag about him going to Yale for the last two months. He has a 2390 and 800’s on four subject tests and has taken 16 AP tests already since he self studied…bleh

I’m at such a tiny school there’s no such thing as discretion. But honestly I don’t find the negative-softens-the-blow approach works. I’ve tried it and honestly I’ve found it just makes it doubly hard

@rebecca12345 haha no way Im applying IR and French what a coincidence. But guys i wasnt nervous at all leading up to this week but the fact that we hear back in 4 days is making me so nervous even though I know that its a crapshoot anyways and I should have low expectations going in
4 years of wanting to go to yale and in 4 days itll be decided if I do or not . That will be it. Done. Final.
