Yale SCEA'er taking November SAT II?

Hey guys, am a bit unsure about whether I can still take the November SAT II's and receive the scores back in time to have them considered for SCEA. The website says that it probably will make it in time, but with no guarantees (see below)... I can't tell whether that's a legal assurance on their part so as not to be held accountable in the 0.01% chance that the scores aren't sent in on time or whether it's a real risk of not getting the scores in.

"Single-Choice Early Action – no later than November. (Although we cannot guarantee that November scores will arrive before the Admissions Committee convenes, past experience suggests that they will)."

Basically, how safe is it to plan my SAT schedule around that? I'd much rather take my SAT I in October one last time, and my SAT II in November... but if the risk of the scores not getting in is real, I might just have to take my SAT II in October instead.

Thanks guys :)

There IS a risk. I had my MathII SAT in November. I didn’t send the scores because I thought they wouldn’t make it and I planned to use them for RD. Well, they could have made it. They came out in the last possible moment, but anyways, they could have arrived on time

I’m pretty sure the last SAT Yale accepts is the november ones so you should actually be fine, they have it so that CollegeBoard sends it electronically so as soon as they are up, Yale will get a copy. Also, even if the admissions process has started, it is highly unlikely that you will be one of the first people they look at so they see an imjcomplete app. If you want, you can switch the order of I and II’s but it should be fine either way.

You mention that your October SAT-I will be a retake. So part of the thing to consider is what your current SAT-I score is. If you are already up above 2100 then you may be better off taking the SAT-II’s in October and the SAT-I retake in November.

Edited to add: Looking at your past posts I see that you recently reported a one-time score of 2200 and a superscore of 2240, meaning that you’ve already taken the SAT-I twice. Considering everything I would advise you to take the SAT-II’s in October and either forget about retaking the SAT-I or take it in December and report it for the RD round if you get deferred. Though they won’t admit it, I do think that Yale frowns upon too many SAT-I retakes.

SATI retake in October and SATII retakes in November is what I did and all the scores got to Yale in time for SCEA (when I was admitted), so it shouldn’t be an issue. Don’t stress about it and good luck!

An ambiguous indication that this is true:

[Yale Daily News - No choice on scores](http://www.yaledailynews.com/news/university-news/2009/01/16/no-choice-on-scores/)

You should take the ACT in September or October just to be safe.
