My son got accepted into the Yale Summer Program, has anyone attended this before or know anything about the program? Is it worth the time and money? If you attended, did it really make you grow as an actor?

Hello,

I think it may be well worth the money, depending on how serious your son is about acting and where he is with his training. It will certainly give him a taste of professional, disciplined training as well as some input from the instructors about his talent. It is Stanislavski based, so its pretty much the springboard to some of the more popular acting techniques one hears about, ie meisner, stella adler, method. It is a summer intensive. But still it is Yale, and they have an absolutely fantastic MFA program. My daughter has considered the summer program as well. She trained at Strasberg intensive last summer and is going to Tisch as a visiting college student drama classes this summer. Good Luck to your son.

Also, if your son is a college student, check to see if he can get credits that will transfer back, thats what my daughter is doing. A little more expensive, but worth it.
