Sorry for being misleading, I meant like assuming the fall semester was online, I wasn’t trying to say that it was 100% going to be online
Yeah I’m in the United States. Don’t worry at all if you do not receive a call. The phone call / email is an informal thing and I would not be surprised if they only do it for U.S. applicants. Definitely check your portal regularly, I think there is a good chance of people getting accepted off the waitlist through the month of June. I don’t want to get your hopes up, but I think international applicants will actually have an easier type making it off the waitlist this year as Yale is keen to have a large international student body yet so many kids are deciding to defer their enrollment leaving open spots for prospective international kids. If you haven’t already, I would absolutely recommend writing a personal email to the admissions office. I wrote two in the month of May. I can’t say for sure if they actually help, but clearly they do not hurt your application. I wish you luck my friend!
Thanks for taking the time to reply man (or woman)! I did write an email, quite a long one in fact, back in April and I got a response in May. “Thank you for your thoughtful letter” etc etc, though I think it is a standard response.
@JustyouraverageG @pangav2001 Hi guys! What type of email are you guys talking about? I only sent a letter of continued interest to my admission officer, and then a confirmation email asking if he received the letter. I haven’t gotten any response to neither one. What type of personal email have you guys written, and should I maybe write one too? Also, what type of response it was and did you send the email to the admission officer or the admission office. Thank you guys beforehand!
@kinght personally I sent a letter of continued interest; I emailed it to the admissions officer responsible for my country and to the Dean of Undergraduate Admissions. I didn’t send an email asking for a confirmation, but I received a confirmation from my “regional” admissions officer about a month after I sent my letter, but that was pretty much it. Wish you the best of luck!
@pangav2001 Thank you so much for the response! Hmm, I wonder if receiving a response to that email tells something. Do you mind sharing the name (or the initials) of your admission officer? (if that is allowed in this forum) I’m an international applicant too and didn’t receive any reply. Wishing the best of luck to you too!
@kinght I’d prefer not sharing on the forum. Send me an email at pan.gav2001@gmail.com and we’ll talk from there if you don’t mind
@pangav2001 Cool! Thanks!
Did anyone receive an email today asking if you continue to be interested in being on waitlist?
Was it a personal email sent by an admissions rep?
@justyouraverageG Congratulations on being accepted.
The email I received was sent by donotreply@yale.edu and has the usual signature of Dean of Undergraduate Admissions.
Thanks for the well-wishes! I received an email at the beginning of May that is similar to what you described. I sent a “letter of continued interest” by email to the Yale Admissions shortly after I got that email, but I’m not sure if that was required or not. Sorry I can’t be of more help! Good luck!
@justyouraverageG Thank you for your prompt response. It helps.
I was not sure if the email I received was sent to multiple students and I posted in the forum to find out about that.
Have a great weekend.
Hi @Innovationdue .Did it tell you to fill a form?
a few hours ago, i received an e-mail with a link to a form on the yale portal in which i had to choose whether to remain on the waitlist during summer or not
@SF0011 The email I got is similar to what @24intstudent has received.
@Innovationdue @24intstudent i received a similar one as well
@SF0011 Thank you for confirming.
@SF0011 @24intstudent Good luck and best wishes!!!
Hello @Innovationdue @24intstudent @SF0011.
I’m wondering if you received an automated email confirming your response after filling that form or not??
@cs1200 didn’t receive any automated email confirming the response but when I log in to the portal it can be seen that I have chosen to “remain on the waitlist”
