Alright so its after the great May 1 date and yield rates will be posted really soon, along with the number of spots left and waitlist chances for the class of 2013!!! Just thought it would be a good idea to gather all those waitlisted students for this year’s entering class and to sort of discuss any new updates and news that would involve us… this year, theres 769 of us, which is much less than last year… lets see how many people accepted to remain and soon, find out how many and who gets admitted off the waitlist!!! good luck everyone and make sure to add your name and state/country below by copying and pasting…

Typically the high-level admission stats (like yield rate) for the season just concluded are released in early May and are reported by the Yale Daily News. I suspect they need to leave enough time for snail mail to bring in all replies to offers. The Common Data Set (CDS), with more detail, isn’t posted until much later (late fall or early winter).

Hey btw guys, as of last year, it was may 8th when Yale released their first round of waitlist decisions… tomorrow could be a big day! (hopefully) :D

It goes on to say that Harvard and Princeton will both dig into their waitlists, so this might still cause Yale to take a second look at its own waitlist.

Even if students are taken in off the waitlist though, its very probably going to be in the single digits.

Haha yeah I called Yale today and they responded with an e-mail saying they as of now were not expecting to take any students off their waitlist :(.

468 students on the waitlist!!! AHH this is so low last year they ended up taking 80 from the waitlist so if they did take from the waitlist, we would have high chances! Damn, i guess its gonna be 0 taken from the waitlist this year… and if we get really lucky, maximum of 10 cause they already have around 20 more and not many students decide to pick another school over Yale (such as Harvard and Princeton) when they get admitted off their waitlist … basically, we will be getting our rejection letters next month

We should start a campaign to encourage kids to take a gap year. Kids who take a gap year win because gap years are awesome and we have a slightly better chance of getting in off the waitlist.

haah cmc4me… I like that idea! Statistics totally show if you take a
Gap year you’ll be happier, wealthier, and marry someone who is 10 times more attractive then if you don’t… Serious, just trust me Yale admits, don’t verify those stats, that kind of thing is for lame people who don’t take gap years… ;)
