how long did your interview take?

My interview was about an hour...

wow, i think i have had the longest interview till now then.

gosh how do I get an interview?

you had to register for one on the website...it might be too late...

yea last day for registering was jan 6.

no, it depends on where u are. my area just BEGAN registration today, so go check now!

the website says jan 6.

mind sharing what your interviewer asked you?
what did you guys talk about?
the normal types? or anything special / random?

um...my interviewer asked pretty much the normal questions...we went off on a lot of random tangents after some of my answers...mine was pretty laid back.

the questions were pretty much straight from an application (not necessarily northwestern's, but they were those types of questions.)

I used to live in CHicago, so we also talked about the surrounding area/common experiences...good times.

anyone else have interview stories to share? mine is tomorrow afternoon...

listen to music while driving. ( i know it sounds silly, but it help:))

I just did my interview today in Washington, D.C. I did my interview in Starbucks (No surprised there lol), which was very cozy and a great place to talk btw. I got there with my friend cuz I didn't know how to take metro train so she could help me out, and was waiting for her. I called her cell phone when it was about 11:30 which was the time we promised to meet each other, and she said she was in the coffee shop already!! I looked around immediately, and found the lady who's been sitting in the coffee shop from quite a while ago. We looked at each other with holding cell phone, and we just burst into laughter. :)

She started an interview by asking me to tell her little bit about myself. I told her about my hobbies... prospect major.. my future plans.. ECs.. and stuffs like that. Then she asked questions based on what I said. She wanted me to tell her in detail about the ECs I did.. what I liked those.. What I learned from those. Also she asked what did I see myself doing in Northwestern U.

She wasn't even taking notes while we were talking, which I thought was really nice. She was fairly young (at most 25), and understood what I was going through. We talked about the anxieties before acceptance/rejection comes.. what kind of fun things I could do in NU.. Frat/Sororities.. various things that weren't so formal.

I really liked the interview a lot. We talked about an hour, and she asked me if there's anything NU should know about me that wasn't put in application. I was like "THAT NU is my first choice!!". I can't tell if she really liked me or not,but she sure seemed like it. it. I've done 3 interviews so far, and I'd say it was the best out of 3 :)

I was wearing jean, nice shirt, and long coat (it was really cold) if anyone like to know. Good luck with everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!

you are a girl?

mine was pushed back to tuesday cuz of the snow
i looked this guy up and i have nearly nothing in common w/ him in way of hobbies nor occupational interests.. oy vey =(
i could've related to my first supposed interviewer

to Nomad:

Yes, I'm a female

ok thanks, got confused by your name.

my interview was a little different. They had all the alums in the area go to the local private school and then you signed up for times. It was actually pretty cool because they matched you up with someone from the college you applied to, and I happened to get someone who majored in the writing program, which i'm interested in.

My northwestern interview has probably been my best...haha, I kind of applied to the school on a whim but the more I learn about it the more I really really like it!

signifyingnothing - that's how my interview was. I think that's how they do it for areas with a larger alumni population.

yeah that's how it was for me too.. except i couldn't make it cuz of the snow
so now, unfortunately, i'm stuck w/ some1 definitely not in my school
did u go to pingry?
