The "big envelope" just arrived at our house! Everyone in the family made a point to be at home at lunchtime to check the mail. Son was very blase about the whole thing, but his dad and I are thrilled (and relieved. Son's education and application are both "non-traditional" - always a gamble.) There are some other schools to hear from, but this one was the #1 choice. Hope everyone else gets good news too so we can all celebrate with virtual champagne.

Congratulations, I'll bet he is thrilled, too! Was his first choice on the right or left coast?

Right coast. We expect to hear from his left coast ED school this week, too. But the first letter is a huge thrill. Now all we have to do is figure out how we're going to pay for it!

virtual corks popping here for you! YAY!! Congrats.

yes...may be I should go in a business of selling e-champagne (like they would name a star for your kid for a fee).

Congratulations.

My son received an acceptance from his safety (state school, rolling admissions) over the weekend. I thought he would just set it aside, but he was clearly pleased to have it in hand. Still waiting for EA news.

Simba, you can already do that. Google the international star registry.

Texas, CONGRATULATIONS! I'm so happy for your family. Mine was certainly not as excited as I was when the fat envelope came, but I think that's the staid boy in him. Good luck on the rest of the app's.

1moremom, congrats to your son too. It's always great to know early that you have a place to go to college.

Hooray! (Doesn't it kill you when they're busy being cool about it and you feel like shouting so loud the neighbors will hear?) Congrats!

Congrats, texas137! Your son and your family did good!

S has been accepted ED at Boston University! I've been checking his applicant link all morning. Nothing! I'm about to take my folks to the airport and checked one more time. And it said "view your admissions decision." On my way back from the airport I am going to stop at the HS and tie red and white balloons to his car antenna.
No information about honors college or merit aid on the link.

Texas:

Just got home and saw nice card from your S and then your good news! I'm thrilled. Congrats!

Congratulations, Kinshasa!! Great news. I feel like these are my own kids! I can totally understand your elation.
