<a href="http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/623727-chances-would-appreciated-chances-back.html%5B/url%5D">http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/623727-chances-would-appreciated-chances-back.html</a></p>

9th grade doesn't count, so don't sweat it. 11th grade is very important, so your dip early in the year could hurt you. How is your unweighed GPA for 10 and 11 grades?

gpa is low, but you have a pretty hard course load. Your test scores are good too, as well as your extracurriculars.

i think you'd probably get deferred initially tho

also, try n load up on more AP's as a senior...a manageable amount

also, if u were the captain of ur CC/track team for 2 years and had decent times....then i think it wouldnt hurt to also send in a recruit form to the athletic department. send it in as soon as this track season is over. i just got deferred, and i sent it in hoping that it may help me out.

triple post error. sorry.

So it IS worthg applying? (I don't wanna waste my time with places where I have absulutely no chance whatsoever)

triple post error. sorry.

imo
don't bother applying. if this was during the ER then i would say go ahead and apply.
But at this point in time you have a very little chance of admission.

blackpen, im still a junior.

Unless you have some elaborate explanation for your GPA, I don't think it's worth applying. OOS is already very difficult, and I don't think your course work makes up for your GPA/test scores. However, if your freshman year was the reason your GPA is so low, then you should give it a try, as UM excludes fresh/senior grades.

Also, don't bank on essays to get you in. They only help fringe applicants, and as it stands, you're a far reach.

ok
you should definitely apply....EARLY. and bring your gpa up up up.

recalculate your gpa with only your 10 & 11th grades. use only your academic classes, and take out the +'s and -'s.
if your UM gpa is higher than a 3.3, then i think it would be worth it to apply, especially since you have so much other stuff to make up for your gpa.

Seeing as though if you got in you'd go, it would appear that you have a strong interest in UM. If you don't apply, you'll always wonder if you would have been accepted. Just Do It =)
