I've heard that yearbook doesn't look all that great for colleges... I am a freshman and I just got accepted to my school's yearbook staff. I'm going to be a photographer on the staff, and I really love taking photos. I will be on the staff the rest of my three years of high school. Our school's yearbook staff annually produces a nationally award winning book, and I think that could make up for colleges seeing yearbook as a joke... I'm just worried about it, and I don't really have a back-up plan for my elective in high school, as yearbook is something I'm really excited for. Do colleges just see yearbook as a filler class or does it just depend on the situation? If they do, what can I do when the time comes around for me to apply to college to show them that it's not a filler class to me, but that it's something important to me and my school?
