Yearbook Staff or Student Council?

I’m currently really conflicted right now. I’m in line to become Editor-In-Chief for my school’s yearbook staff, however I also got offered a position as leadership for Student Council (basically a team member of a specific department, ex: clubs, finances, spirit, etc.).

The Student Council class and the Yearbooks class are both at the same period so i cant do both.

What should I do? I don’t want to lose the close relationship I have with the Yearbook Advisor, but I’m also getting really burned out with the people in yearbook and am really interested in being a part of something new. Please help!

  1. Whatever interests you most
  2. Are you going to be a senior?
  3. Editor in chief is a very good leadership position…you would be giving that up for student council

I will be a senior next year, and both really interest me, which makes it that much harder. I do realize that editor in chief is a good position, but I’m not sure if I want to miss out on an opportunity to do more for the school.

As a senior I’d take being Editor in chief (and recommendation from yearbook adviser) over simply being a member on leadership council.
