Which one do you think looks better to colleges?
Whichever one you’re more passionate about & can accomplish more with. That said, it’s usually easier to do this as a yearbook editor.
Thank you for your advice! I love both jobs! It is just that I feel like in my school, the honor society president is deemed as a “more glory” job. So I try to get how these two jobs are deemed in other high schools, to get a more objective view.
No one really cares about the honor society at my school in part because everyone’s eligible to be a part of it. It doesn’t really hold anything new for people. I’d say our newspaper is held in higher regard than our yearbook just because it’s more academics-based and people from there usually end up at amazing colleges, but both are considered better than run-of-the-mill clubs.
@tonystarkofwinterfell It’s the exact opposite at my school. Our yearbook and newspaper are literally trash while the honor society has about 10 members. I swear I bought a yearbook last year that I bet I could’ve made myself with my printer. Also our newspaper is filled with memes.
@tonystarkofwinterfell @PeachyKhaleesi Thank you for your advice! My councilor said that yearbook is a more prestigious job, so I might run for that instead of Honor Society president. TBH, Honor Society president is a position that sounds nice and pretty, but does not really do anything. However, none of the past yearbook editors in our school went to really good colleges. Some Honor Society presidents did get into good colleges. Should I care too much about the fact that past year book editors in our school did not get into good colleges?
Nope. It’s all circumstantial. They probably just didn’t have other things going for them.
