Yet another chances thread

White female from FL, in a very competitive IB program in a rather, um, pathetic high school.
GPA: 3.64 uw, 4.7w, high school doesn't rank
National Merit Semifinalist

ACT:34
SAT: 790 Writing, 700 Math, 750 Reading (Total 2240)

AP Scores: US History 4, English Lang. and Comp 4, English Lit 4, Euro Hist 5, Psych 4

IB Scores: Art SL 5, Psych SL 5
Senior Year Classes: All are AP (except history and English since I've taken them already) and IB (Art, English, History are HL)
French IV, Calc AB, Studio Art IV, English Lit IV, History of the Americas, Physics

In general I've taken the hardest classes available to me.

Recs and essay should be good to excellent, my IB class is fairly small and the teachers all are known for writing amazing recommendations.

Extracurriculars:
NHS, Mu Alpha Theta, French Club, several community orchestras that regularly win awards (I play bass and violin), I started a charity organization in which two of my friends and I teach violin/viola at a local elementary school, I help garden at a retirement community. I have over 300 hours of volunteering accumulated over the last two years.

I am applying ED, and went to Discovery Weekend (which Wash U flew me out for.) I haven't had an interview, but would like one-does Wash U do alumni interviews?

You have a very reasonable chance of being accepted, especially since you are applying ED (only 2 1/2 weeks left until the Nov 15 deadline and you do not want to wait until the last minute!) And yes, Wash U does alumni interviews. You can contact APAP to see if there is someone in your area you can meet. Call toll-free: (800) 935-4826.

Alumni & Parents Admission Program

Thanks for the advice and the number for the interview!

Nothing is certain, but my money is on you.
Good luck!
