<p>I'm a male from Colorado - being forced to apply as an international student since my citizenship is still indian < (how does this affect my chances?)

GPA - 3.65
Class Rank - Top 25 percent (it's a bit low)
Senior Year - 6 IB Classes</p>

- JV and Varsity football (10th-12th)
- City Cricket team (10th-12th)
- Clarinet (since 4th grade)
- Presidential Service Award (300ish hours of service)
- 8th place in national french contest - nationwide (9th grade)
- Gold Medalist in national Latin contest - nationwide (9th grade)

<p>Wash U last year had a 17% acceptance rate. Your ACT score is average for admitted students, your class rank is below average for admitted students. ECs are OK, but ordinary. I don't know how applying as an international will affect your chances. But as a package it's hard to see why your chances would be significantly different than the average applicant.</p>
<p>Also remember that even if you do not get accepted in December, you will most likely be deferred to regular decision and you have a reasonable shot of being accepted then. Since you applied ED they know if they accept you in the Spring that you are very likely to attend, and that would rank you above similar applicants who applied RD.</p>
<p>I would have to agree with what IJReilly has previously said. That being said, my daughter was accepted last spring with a very similar GPA/rank, after initially being deferred ED. I think having those few national awards and your high level of interest will also help you. I don't know how applying as an international student will affect your chances. But, give it a shot.
