Yet another "help me decide!" thread

I'd like your opinions, please, on my options.

I'm chosing between Boston College, Boston University, and Carnegie Mellon.

I want to major in English/creative writing/literature/theatre type stuff/possibly (very iffy) business.

So... which would be best for that? I really do prefer the college campus feel, but i could live without it.

Other important factors are: getting into a good grad school and ballet.

I'm visiting them all this week, but i may in the end decide to do a gap year. I'm kind of starting to realize that won't work though. Anyway...

help!!!

CMU is for Science. BU is not as prestigious as BC. So BC.

Carnegie Mellon is probabaly the best overall school on your list. Also, the drama director at my high school went to Carnegie Mellon, so they must have a pretty decent theater program as well. If you are unconvinced of that, then go to BC, it is a better school than BU and, from what I hear would give you the full college experience.

Ahahah I like how NickZhao always titles his posts "from Nick Zhao"
Oh man. Useless post. Sorry. I say visit them and see which campus gives you the better vibe. All three schools are all pretty prestigious and more or less on the same level in the areas you're considering. Also factor in the fin. aid they're giving you.

thanks guys. any more opinions?

If ballet is important to you, I suggest you check out their dance departments. My D was a ballet dancer who applied and was accepted to BC and didn't attend because the dance offereing were so limited.
She's a bio major/pre-med curriculum as well. BU may have more to offer in dance. Of course, there are many opportunities in Boston to take ballet, but if you want a high level technique class, many colleges just don't provide it. Don't know about CMU. Another thing to do would be to call the dance departments and ask about the ballet training--what level they go to, pointe work offered and how frequently, etc. This doesn't sound like the only factor you're considering, but like my daughter WAS a factor that helped her make her final choices.
Good luck!

based on your post, boston college sounds like the best fit for you

If you want to dabble in music/theatre/business then probably CMU. If you want pure english then probably BC.
