I’m excited my daughter was accepted to nursing program as a transfer. We visited the three beautiful campuses, but it appears there is no transportation between York Hill and North Haven campuses. Only thing I found in a web search was a shuttle between just 2 of the campuses and shuttles to shopping areas. Am I mistaken about this? How can there be no transportation from on-campus housing to classes? What if a student doesn’t drive?
Hi! That’s something we are still trying to figure out as well…my D is a nursing student finishing up her freshman year. What she has told me is that by junior year when they can live on that campus most students have to have a car because they are basically doing all of their clinicals and are not on the main campus much if at all. I did hear that they seems to car pool as well as they go to clinical in groups. I also heard that the school polled students to see if there was enough interest to having a shuttle and there wasn’t, but I could be misinformed. My d won’t be bringing a car until junior year but we planned that before picking the school as we knew anywhere she went she’d be responsible for driving to the clinical site.
That’s all the info I have. Hope it helps a bit!
Yes, it helps. Thanks! You’re right about the “driving to clinical site” responsibility. The nursing major is new to us since she switched interest to it her Soph yr and I guess it just came upon us so suddenly! I guess we’ll be car shopping!
Hi @vlamcat,
congratulations on your daughter’s acceptance into the nursing program!
The reason we don’t provide shuttle service was correctly stated by @cakeisgreat. Since students are required to have a car for off campus clinical experiences very few students would actually want to take a shuttle if they have a car. Also the classes are in consecutive blocks on the North Haven Campus, so a student wouldn’t be going back and forth multiple times throughout the day. Many students do carpool to campus and to the clinical.
The shuttle does come up in conversation, but when you talk to current students…the vast majority would prefer to drive.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Thank you for your explanation. It’s good to know about the carpooling and classes being in consecutive blocks. I appreciate your time and availability to answer questions!
