"You are 'STILL' being considered..."

So who who going to Merced with me? :(

I really find no point in dorming in UCI if that means my parents can pop in a visit any time they want. It’s not that I have anything against my parents, I just don’t like getting surprise visits. And the helicopter parent effect.

I’m sorry, I would love to go to Merced but I can’t. :(

Tbh, both dates are pretty attractive to me, but I still want to know my status like NOW. :X

Doubtful I’m getting off UCSB’s waitlist.

@Andrew: Did you even apply for UCM? How about UCR? Wait, did you apply for all the UCs? What about private school like USC or Stanford? No Cal States?

@rainsonata lol yeahh that’s why I was so devastated from UCSD’s rejection… that was my only true chance at dorming and experiencing full college life…

A lot of my friends go to UCI and dorm, but their parents don’t really drop in cause they go home on the weekends anyways :p

@ainstuff: Wow, you sound exactly like me. UCSD was pretty much my only chance for dorming, besides UCR. UCR is an hour away, which in my opinion is still too close to home.

i thought i was guaranteed to a uc if i was rejected from all my uc colleges :(

The UCM Count ME In Thing actually doesn’t guarantee acceptance, sad, i know. It just says that UCM will look at your application and decide to accept you or not based on your application. But basically you should be guaranteed to get into Andrew since your overall a good candiate for UCs

I wonder if all of us will end up in the UC failboat for Merced…

i just told my daddddddy i am going to merced, he is like ***… then i said i was going pursue to be a doctor, then he was mah good boy. that is to help break it down to your parents. Your welcome kids.

@rainsonata: yes exactly how I feel! that’s why I didn’t even apply to UCR… -_- argh I should have :[ but anyways… UCSD was perfect… far enough to not see everyone from high school (ahem UCI) but not too far so my parents could still visit (with at least a week notice ;))

@Andrew LOL that’s really funny hahahahahh.

I’m sure you guys will get somewhere (UCI). Keep on waiting and keep those chins up!

lol I am horrible at science T_T my chances of being a doctor = 0

Ah, the Asian American Dream: have your children get a 5.0, go to UCI/UCLA/UCSD/UCB/Stanford/Harvard/Yale and become a doctor. I was just kidding, but somehow, I have a feeling this is a very true stereotype.

I think this thread is making me more anxious and depressed lol. Gotta keep hoping though. Rejected from 3, accepted to 1, waiting on 3. D’: UCs are the only schools i applied to (didn’t apply to UCR or UCM). Idk Cal states don’t really appeal to me. I don’t want to go out of state either.

If all else fails i go to UCSC >.< The only school that accepted me so far haha. I can still transfer from there to another UC right? Then again, i might as well go to a community college and then transfer. There’s a pretty good community college like 2 minutes away from me. It seems like 60% of my high school goes there after they graduate and then transfers somewhere else. Saves money too, although it seems like i’ll be getting everything covered by financial aid and cal grant. haha my family is super poor.

@ainstuff: I know how you feel there. My lack of skills in science is making my parents have doubt in me pursuing the health field T_T

I was planning to sell my kidney to pay for college. And donating blood every other week.

@FridayFriday: "yeah I have a 1910 SAT 1 and 3.87 GPA…

I haven’t heard back from UCI yet, but my friend with lower stats already got in cause her major was criminology… "

Would you mind indicating how much lower the stats were for your friend? It sounds similar to my daughter’s stats, who applied to the same major (criminology), but hasn’t been accepted yet.

That IS the Asian American dream… Asians seriously love to brag especially Viet people whether it’s clothing brands, cars, and especially Universities… They just think being able to say OH my kid goes to UC-insert here- or Stanford or Harvard or Yale and will be a Doctor gives them a higher up status…
