Started looking for my new place today. Hopefully somewhere in Santa Monica or Malibu.

So honestly, what are the chances that we can be get housing in a university apartment rather than the dorms? Over 50%?

^chances are very high! Make sure to look asap though

This article from the Daily Bruin says that Delta Terrace will be all Transfers next year.

do you guys know anything about delta terrace?

So this is where we are all going to be living… not too shabby. Check out the video to see what the rooms look like.

[UCLA Housing Tour - For Students](<a href=“UCLA Housing Tour - For Students”>http://www.uclahousingtour.com/)

But how much is that going to cost? Looks pretty expensive to me (vs. the res halls). But I guess, according to that article, we don’t have a choice.

Are transfers allowed to dorm with freshman if preferred? I’m closer in age with freshman than most transfers.

@guitarfreak

What do you mean look asap? Like turn in the housing app early? Cuz I called ucla university housing and the person told me it wasn’t looking too good…

Most of us? No, not me. You guys maybe. I’m getting an apartment somewhere between Santa Monica Blvd, and Wilshire, ideally. Definitely within biking distance. I’m also getting the 99 dollar sports package, which is free admission to all sporting events if you reserve in advance. It’s also free admission to performance venues, discounts on food and gear, even discounts on academic things like printing and crap. The sad part is, we can’t get a discount for any family or friends, they are back to paying full price.

^ I’m seriously debating the whole on-campus vs. off-campus thing. Gahh I don’t know…

traffic is terrible around the 10/405 interchange. I wouldn’t ever recommend off-campus. you’ll likely be in you car as much as class, unless you schedule them whack. I like 12 miles away, and I’m going to live on-campus.

*I meant live 12 away

@rawful
I just meant start looking into getting an apartment asap because if you look now, youre pretty sure to get one.

I just called admissions and they said transfers can live in any of the buildings they want.

^^^
sweet I wouldn’t mind living with freshman either id only be a couple months older than them.

Its weird how theres no clear answer to where we are allowed to live haha. That article above says we have to live in delta terrace & the counselor said we can live anywhere no problem. I wouldnt mind living with freshmen and sophmores. Im actually kind of sick of being around transfers all the time.

I asked UCLA if transfers could dorm with freshman, and their reply was yes, as long as a freshman student says he or she wants to dorm with a transfer on his or her housing request…what are the chances of that?

I wouldn’t mind living in Delta Terrace. Honestly, I would prefer living in a plaza than in a res hall. I live in Santa Monice 15 mins away from UCLA right now anyway in a basement with two other people. Sharing a bathroom with two people isn’t so bad, and I don’t think I’d enjoy sharing a communal bathroom with 20-30 other people haha.

I wonder what this whole Transfer Theme Experience Community thing is all about. Has anyone heard of it?

Getting an apartment with 4 friends. It’s gonna be rad.

We just put in the deposit today :D

“Sunset Village is comprised of three buildings (Canyon Point, Courtside and Delta Terrace) that together house over 1,500 undergraduates. Each building is divided into eight sections, or “houses” with a lounge and separate entrance. "

i think there are 50 people to a house. its said to be less social than deneve, but not as bad as suites.
