You have no financial aid awards available for viewing in this aid year.

Does anyone know if this is because my parents havent mailed in their tax forms yet?
They just received the tax forms today, i just want to make sure.
Thanks.

College Confidential can’t answer this question. Call the Office of Student Financial Services directly at 434-982-6000 or 800-391-0063.

Hm…what if I have this message but I got a deposit waiver?

I sent my finaid stuff after March 1st, so that might be the case. Waiting game, perhaps?

I can’t answer these questions. Only the aid officers can.

This afternoon we received an e-mail informing us that financial aid packages may not be available until April 21 (could be earlier, of course, and were supposed to be available starting this morning at 7 a.m.). My son is also waiting for financial packages from three other schools (he’s already received them from two schools). And then he will be able to make decisions. Financial aid is key. How quickly are financial aid appeals handled? What happens if the financial aid package comes in on April 21 and needs to be appealed (may be a commonplace scenario in these economic times). How long will that take, and will it be done before the May 1 deadline to notify schools of intended enrollment?

That’s the same message I got…

Last year I got financial aid packages awarded before summer began and they didn’t show up on ISIS until shortly before school started.

We have contacted SFS to see what is going on.

Thanks for this thread, I have the same question. I turned in my tax forms a little late, and I can’t fathom not receiving any aid (EFC- 15k).

Thanks Dean J for the input.

And when i called the representative who spoke to me said that i will probably be getting my financial aid package in May sometime, since my parents have not gotten their tax forms yet. So im guessing that if you sent your tax forms a little after March 1st then you’ll probably get your package soon. Of course, i cant really say because i obviously dont really know. lol.

Does anyone else whose financial aid package is not showing up yet know that they had everything in on time?? I understand that if you turned in forms late then many of you are still waiting, but I’m just making sure that there are other applications that were turned in before March 1st that are still being processed…

bubbs: Same boat. Sent in plenty of time before the March 1st deadline. We called the financial aid office today and they stated what was also stated in the email to Parents - could be anytime from now until April 21st.

I send my tax forms 2 weeks ago and I already got my award, and it is pretty good. Maybe I was lucky.

greeeeaaat that makes me feel a lot better. not.

I sent mine in a while ago too, definitely before march 1

Guys calm down.

I sent in financial aid info last year as late as mid-April. I got decent aid (> 26.5k in grants, 6k in loans, for 5k EFC). You’ll be fine.

Suggestion: Keep checking your “To Do” list on the SIS/Self Service. About an hour ago, my son’s to-do list (which has been empty for months) all of a sudden was populated. They said they didn’t receive the required Tax forms (which I know we sent - they probably just got lost in the shuffle).

phew. thanks galoisien, that makes me feel alot better.
hahaha

still no aid up. ugh.

Dean J, (if you’re ‘listening’)

Do you think it would be okay to stop by the Financial Aid office on Monday while we attend the Days on the Lawn? I’m a bit concerned that they still haven’t received our documents, even though the To-do list is now empty.

We do try to call the Financial Aid office, and they are somewhat helpful, but we still have no financial aid offer yet.

Thanks very much.
