RainbowSprinkles, think of it this way. We’re people on a forum for college admissions. That automatically makes us a very self-selecting group, not to mention the fact that some of the users with lower stats usually don’t post them, since they are often intimidated by those with higher stats.

Definitely but at the same time also shows the complete arbitrary decisions made by HYPSM adcoms. Silverturtle whose app, IMO, was AMAZING was differed from Yale. (Search the Yale SCEA thread for stats).

CC acceptance rate > Official acceptance rate but is still less than 50%. :(

So true. I love CC. I don’t even know how I found it, but I’m so glad I did.
It’s nice to know that we probably have higher chances of admission into top tier schools (:

Btw (to fledgling), what schools did you apply to? Anything outside of U.S.?

I only applied to U of Toronto. That was basically my only non-U.S. school. And HitMan, I came across your stats in the Caltech thread and they were AMAZING. As in, they were ego-obliterating. So don’t discredit yourself

P.S. Sorry for straying so far from the original topic…

^both of your stats are awesome-way better than mine!

To fledgling: I live in the GTA (Great Toronto Area). If you have any questions about U of T, you can ask me (:

Guess CC is the right place to be…if ONLY I don’t spend so much of my test-studying time here…

@ RainbowSprinkles: Okay, thanks! I’ll be sure to ask you then Also, thanks for the comment about my stats, but they really aren’t the best lol. I should know.

Oh trust me…I know. All the time, I know.

Haha silverturtle, I believe you’re speaking on everyone’s behalf here ;)

When you no longer believe the “I chance you so you chance back” scam…

I was confused by IMO, I regularly think of International Math Olympiad, lol because one IMO member was rejected from either Harvard or MIT

^True CCer

I finally realized that today I am a CC’er after typing in my address bar “collegeconfidential.com” by mistake when I actually wanted to go to CollegeBoard’s website.

Has this ever happened to anyone else before?

Actually the opposite for me, I always type into collegeconfidential.com but it forces me onto collegeboard, so now I have a simple bookmark bar saved, so I click on it to immediately see my subscribed notifications, xD

According to Chrome’s ‘most visited sites’, CC is in first place. CB is in fifth.

I’m a pure-blood CCer…

when you get excited at the sight of yellow dots.

so true, although it’s more the double converse, where you get depressed when all the dots are grey and you go searching for new topics to spamm or contribute (same thing anyways)

^^ I get especially excited when I see old school names in the newest reply area. I remember getting ultra-excited when I saw Moodrets, Invoyable, INVENIAMVIAM, and rmadden15 at various times

^ When did that happen?!?!?!

^ When they get bumped?

I always get excited when I see ChaosTheory. Can’t really say why.

When your top two websites on the Google Chrome homepage is CC and a CC spin-off forum. (Before break, CC was in 8th place. sigh)
