You know you're a nerd when...

lol Warts, if you are referring to yourself, you are nowhere near your levels when I first joined. I think the CCfasthelp has worked!

Guess I’m not a nerd then. :)

you wear a bracelet that has a usb on it.

hahahhaha that is so depressing.

I am (was?) guilty of this.

When you are actually excited to go back to school, but not because you will get to see your friends again.
When you would rather go to math camp than football camp.
You would rather spend Friday nights studying for AP tests than hanging out with friends… in October.
You would retake a 2300.
You are not satisfied with a 790 on a SAT II.
You have nightmares about AP tests before you take them, then nightmares about your scores afterward.
You are applying to 10 different schools when there are only 5 that you would be happy attending.
and most of all…
You belong to collegeconfidential.

when you post a detailed reply here

Gah, I’m guilty of this too. :(

^ There’s no excuse for that, considering that you get the exact same benefits from a 790 that you get from a 800 in virtually all situations.

YKYAN when you feel the need to make an acronym for everything. :P

This only counts if it’s your first try. Lots of people can solve them fast who do terribly academically.

This, on the other hand, is the definition of a nerd. If you are meticulously polite to girls but avoid all contact with them then you are a geek.

Alas, I signed up for the retake before I found CC - how should I have known? Sue me.

my aunt bought me a TI for christmas, at first I was kinda insulted but then I realized they can cost $100+ and my mom would never buy it. So I really like it, and I love using it and I’ll take it to college and I did always want one.

I know superheroes, I worked in a comic book shop and while it might have been because I’m a girl I did have a good knowledge prier. I have an even better one now though. I have flash ring (special came with buying the brightest day issue #1), I have a pink, green, and blue lantern ring (also specials). I don’t have a collection because I don’t like spending money so I just trade a lot, sometimes I’ll buy if I really want it (like Red Robin comics, which are really cool). Of course there are plenty of really good ones not around the fellas in tights, my favorite of those is Ex Machina (about a politician who can control technology). Anyway, I laugh when people ask if I can even list all the characters on my marvel zombies tee, as if a decent looking girl couldn’t possibly seriously read comics.

Also, ya know I’d marry the guy to buy me this: [ThinkGeek :: Crystal Cube Firejewel Necklace](http://www.thinkgeek.com/tshirts-apparel/jewelry/b020/)

I don’t know if theater geek counts but I’m very good at analyzing plays, I understand theater terms, cat walks, light rooms, how to set up the light programs, how to set up sounds (I carried the sound wire in my back pack for half of last year and my friend was going through my bag only to find a bunch of wires, so confused). Also, because of theater I have pirate hats, amelia earhart hat, pimp hat, wigs, spray, a few evil outfits, a ninja sword, a cape or two.

…you read the “classic books” for fun. (Guilty)

…you and the other people on the Scholastic Bowl team argue about who is the best Pokemon (Guilty)

When you don’t care that you got into YPSM; Harvard rejected you, and you feel like a failure.

What else could you possibly want your watch set to?

[The official US time (NIST & USNO)](http://www.time.gov)

Not that I have mine matched w/ time.gov, I set mine to the bells 4th quarter of last year, but the times have gotten a little off in those 6 or 7 months so I need to do it again soon.

^^And why would you want to set it to a different time? O.o

When you look at 22/7 and think “pi”

When, a 94 in a AP class just isn’t good enough. (Guilty)

When you you and our friends obsess over projects (guilty)

My high school’s clocks ran about 3 minutes behind “official time”, and they ran slow too, so they fell behind until they would inevitably break and need to be reset. I was quite aware of this as I was generally late in the mornings but could often get to class on time because the clocks were late. On the other hand, every afternoon people would check their cellphones and wonder why the bells were late, never thinking about school time. I guess they didn’t realize that the bells were actually linked to the clock and there was nobody sitting in an office with the job of watching the clock and pressing a button for the bells.

when a TI-Nspire™ CX CAS Handheld calculator is the only thing you ever wanted for Christmas (true story bout a guy i know)

You know you’re a nerd when you…

Make fun of civil engineers

Dream about doing something poorly at school

Think about how math and physics applies to everything around you all the time

Go to sleep you don’t count integers, but rather approximate as many decimals as you can to something like (.5)^3/pi or think about what function what give you your position respect to time if you are 60 miles from your destination going 60 mph and your distance from your destination per hour is always your current speed so you never arrive.

Someone asks an arithmetic question that has a non-integer answer, which you respond to faster than the person can type it into their calculator and you leave them in awe.

Think about degrees of separation.

Ask for an extra-credit project and you end up doing something excessively complicated and time-consuming.

Discuss math/science for the fun of it.

Get an IQ score above the 99th percentile and think you should have done better.
