<p>It is strange that they started notifications a week earlier last year. Maybe the competition is close between the applicants and it is taking longer.</p>

<p>Especially since they tweeted that on 11/3 they contacted their finalists last year - I mean throw us a bone!</p>
<p>unless the finalist have all been notified and we just don’t know of any here on CC. nothing on social media sites? i hope I’m wrong, but it seems odd that they would leave it this late. considering the timelines from previous years. </p>
<p>That is the other alternative - they have contacted the finalists and none of us are one! Say it isn’t so…</p>
<p>They tweeted today that applicants will be notified “within the next month,” so I guess they haven’t finished adjudication yet. The winky face and the fact that they have to buy plane tickets make me think that it will be less than a month, right? <p>Jeez it’s late this year. Although, I know two years ago finalists were notified Nov 11 and the year before that it was around thanksgiving so maybe this year it’ll be sometime in between the two.</p>
<p>well their response is kind of funny in that it is kind of an oxymoron - I mean “within the month or next month?” - I can interrupt that different ways…</p>

<p>I think it means exactly what they’ve been saying all along. They will notify w/in 4 weeks – by mid December. Which is exactly when they said they would notify. That plus the other tweet, which said they are “doing things a little differently this year” – perhaps they actually mean what they say?</p>
<p>I’ve been stalking tumblr and twitter and no one has seemed to #youngarts and freak out about something yet, so I don’t think they’ve notified anyone yet.</p>
<p>I hope you are right @tramsmom. I really do! Just wondering why ( like everyone else) they have always said mid december and yet always seem to notify finalists at least a month earlier then that. The YA finalists that travel to
Miami for 1/3 won’t have much time to decide/accept and plan their travels this year. </p>
<p>I honestly now am like done with the waiting it would be different of they did not so what they did last year. That is why we all are anticipating phone calls because last year they started on the 2nd and it is the 10th now but we can’t rush them we just have to wait pray and be patient that’s all we can really do. </p>
<p>Maybe they plan to notify ALL at the same time. (So as to avoid this very “trauma” of being notified by not being notified.) </p>
<p>Maybe the later notifications mean that later entries, like mine, are seriously competing! <em>crosses fingers</em></p>
<p>Technically our next full moon to is December 6th so before that at least that’s what the pic says </p>
<p>Thank you all for your posts. I have been worrying about this the last few days, thinking notifications went out already, and it is so nice to know I am not alone in this terrible waiting period! It certainly seems different from other years, so I guess we will just have to be patient! :-< </p>
<p>Do we get feedback such as written comments from the judges? Even if I don’t place at all, I would really like the feedback to help improve. </p>
