YoungArts 2014-2015

Sigh. Nope.

I really hope they will send out emails later to those who didn’t get in. It sucks to look on a list for your name and not see it. I think they should have sent out emails to begin with. It’s more personal.

@Curlyllama‌ : i actually find emails less personal. they tend to say the same things and dont really give any individual feedback.

I don’t know. At least they kind of acknowledge that you exist. When you don’t see your name in the list, there are all these crazy thoughts of “maybe they never received mine” or “maybe they just misspelled my name.”
At least with an email, you know.

Got a merit!
I just wished I knew about this earlier, would of prepped more pieces that I’m proud of instead of focusing on my academics… but I’m in no place to complain! Happy that I was able to get it merit c:

Congratulations to others who won as well!

@winterbi‌ : haha yeah we’re in the same place got caught up w/ school work and college apps that I didn’t devote as much time to the tape as I could have…but I’m SUPER pumped that I got a Merit! It’s a huge honor  Congrats!!!

Won Merit in Writing. This is so unexpected. I’m so happy. Congrats everyone!

got an honorable mention for music! i’m pretty happy with it.

Merit, HM or Finalist: you are all YA winners. Bravo.

@Curlyllama‌ I think they did out emails to people who didn’t get in–at least for me I had gotten a rejection letter from YA for the Writing/Creative Non-fiction category. (I actually thought it was a notice I became a winner too, since everyone seemed to be getting them around this time… anyhow, I was severely disappointed, and I still really am. :disappointed: ) However, while I submitted to short story writing, I’ve yet to get a notification on my status for my submission so I’m keeping my fingers crossed that maybe there’s still hope they’re still sending out notifications…? Either way, it’s great to see so many people from this forum became Merit, HM, and Finalist winners–congrats!

No email :((((

Uh, my name is on that list under Merit, but I didn’t get an email yet LOL.

@glasshours‌ : same here, they said they would send us an email within 24 hours (of 8 AM today)

My name’s not on the list of winners, but I didn’t receive a rejection email for the second category I submitted to (short story) :-S what does that mean??!

If you didnt get selected you will be receiving a rejection letter soon, I received mine around 12:30pm

@glasshours‌
I just got my email, so probably they are trickling in c:

Is anyone planning to attend the regional programs?
I’m hesitant due to the amount of money that’s needed for me to attend… My mom says I should go for it even though I’ll end up using like at least 2k for travels and hotel but I can’t ask that much right before I go off to college :[
ugh money is always an issue

Congrats to everyone who won something!! And to those who got rejected (lol like me), know that it’s definitely not over. Keep on making your art and doing what makes you happy!

Congrats to all!

Didn’t win, but that’s alright! There’s always hope next year :)

My D @songbird16‌ got her email at 2pm.
She will attend the NYC regional.

I really want to attend a regional program this year. Money prevented me from going last year and I’m pretty certain it’s gonna be the same problem this year :(
