My son applied 3 years ago. A friend of his received the finalist call almost 10 days before my son received his merit award package in the mail. No email or other notification in between… Then another studio friend received his rejection letter around Dec. 5th, 10 days after my son was notified. Hopefully YoungArts will handle it differently this year so everyone, winners or not, would know soon. Last year was nice

Do all the finalists have to actually be called before the official list of all the winners are out? Or are just some finalists called and some aren’t before the list?
All the finalists get calls prior to the list being published and the emails. It’s also to give them time to arrange travel to Miami by January 3rd.
My daughter was an HM last year as a juniour and she got an email a few hours before the list was up on the website.
Hold up, if you’re a finalist do you have to pay for the plane ticket?
