not sure how they are notifying…
considering how few there are in each discipline, hearing there have already been at least 2 for short story is making me scared
if i dont get anything this year, i have two more years to hopefully do better i guess

@pianoman212 yess!!! NYC gang! the 212 makes sense now lol!
WE GOT THIS GUYS!! Hoping for the best for everyone!! <3333
if i go outside and just scream out of pure stress will my neighbors file a noise complaint
do y’all know how many people apply every year? I can’t tell if it’s a lot or
last year they had 7,000 applicants and 700 finalists
Also, has anyone heard from the theater discipline?
Huge congrats to everyone that won!!! That’s amazing and a big accomplishment. I am under the assumption that they called all short story finalists, so I will move on and just vibe out for the day

Omg congrats people!! I’m from NYC too y’all are getting my hopes up!!!
yeah i’m wondering if they are doing it by discipline (in which case, I can assume I didn’t get anything for finalist)
but if it’s more regional or random, i might still have a chance. last year, it looked like they had calls until like 6pm
any other short story people hear back besides those two people?
do you guys think all short stories have been called already? even from west coast? trying to hold out hope
and echoing a HUGE CONGRATS to everyone who got called—it’s a CRAZY accomplishment and I’m sure your pieces were AMAZING! <3

I wonder how many people are calling out to notify the finalists at the same time. If there is only one person, it’s going to take a while to notify all the finalists. if one for each discipline is calling out, that’s a different story.
honestly picturing some overwhelmed intern frantically flipping through stacks of papers and dialing numbers as the teen art sphere floods the internet with panicking makes me feel a little bit better
Yeah I checked the 2019 list and there were only 4 short story finalists. I’m from Ohio so I assume they would have called me by now.

I applied for film, screenplay, and creative nonfiction but for nonfiction i’m 75% sure my writing isn’t even creative nonfiction its a movie review so
