Your ED Application Is In - What Are You Going To Do Now?

Well, at least you got a call from someone...I'm stuck sitting, waiting, wishing...

Maybe it's cause I have dial-up...lol...but I do have a cell...and they have my number...

Yeah, that's true, but I'm sitting here and waiting too.... December 15th is like 5,000 years away.

But I keep checking my email for an alumni interview request and it always comes up empty.

I think all interview reports had to be in by November 20th or something like that... so I think at this point you're probably not getting one :(. Sorry, ChandlerBing.

Argh...really, bestwhit? That ticks me off...I was really looking forward to an interview...what the heck? I even know a Cornell grad in my area...so not cool.

Yeah, don't quote me on this, but I'm pretty sure.
Sorry :(.

well u can keep hoping echo; my interview is on 11/29...although i got the interview request two weeks ago.

I read somewhere that it was November 30th... idk
But I probably won't get one anyway... the deadline's really close.
You would think the Capital Region of NY has a lot of alumni... I guess not.
I really wanted an interview as well, but what can you do?

Is there a way to request an interview? Though I would be hesitant to do so...

I don't know actually... but I don't think I will. It probably wouldn't affect your decision anyway, by this point you're basically either in or not.

how strange...i just got another "interview" request from a cornell alumnus. i got a request from a different alumnus 2 weeks ago...has this occurred to any of u guys?

Ah...this melancholy sense of hopelessness sickens me...

Alumni interviews are done through CAAAN...so even though your area might have a decent number of alums...if they're not a member of CAAAN then they won't be doing interviews.

Mmm...I see. Thanks dewdrop87.

ChandlerBing: I live pretty close to you, and I didn't get one either.

I'm going to be chewing my own leg off by the time December 10th rolls around. Not that chewing my own leg off would really help anything, but still.

okay so today i went to my college counselor to see if he knew the exact date for decisions and he didnt so he called up the admissions office and asked and the guy said that decisions would be released 5 pm on Dec 8th or 9th!?!?!?!
i hope he wasnt lying because that would be horrrrrrrrrible!!!!!

oh exciting stuff this is.
but seriously, all people here should take it easy! if I may just add that message. I didn't get worked until the last two or three days before the decision and that was stressful enough. learning to relax will be useful for you if you attend Cornell, and WHEN you attend some great school next year. :)

Me too karajanhra, I'm already practically chewing my leg off. Yeah, I think very few/no ED applicants from my school got a request. There are probably too many applicants and too little CAAAN alumni. But who knows?

ARE YOU SERIOUS TURKKIZI????????
THAT WOULD BE AMAZING
nice!!!

If that's true turkkizi, I might die a little. From happiness.

They'll probably let us know a tentative release date next week and I will now be anxiously waiting to see if that date is NOT December 15th.

I agree with bestwhit, I may not make it until decision day.
But I'll die happy.

I can't wait... at least Thanksgiving Break starts this Wednesday at my school, so I can dwell on Cornell/decisions for a whole 5 days with less disruption!

!!!

Dear Uncle Ezra,
I am an eager ILR hopeful. I know the admissions timetable says that we will receive our Early Decision Notifications by "Mid-December," but would you be able to possibly offer a more precise date?

Best,
Stressed

Dear Early Bird,

For many questions, you can find the answers in my archives. For this one you could have searched "early decision" for the following information.

Cornell University’s Early Decision notices go out (in the mail) on December 11, 2008. If you have established an online self-service account, you can check anytime after 5 p.m. Eastern time on the 11th. I will add that last year the date and time were delayed due to the huge number of
applications. The people working on admissions read "every" application and sometimes that takes more time than expected.

In the meantime, thanks for visiting Uncle Ezra. Keep in touch with all that’s happening at the University’s homepage (Cornell University). Wishing you every success in your academic career, wherever the future takes you.

Is Uncle Ezra correct?!
