Ugh lol.. they still haven't gotten my stuff.. should I call?

Chandler, spanish, chinese, japaneses? nice man, hahah i'd be happy if i can keep up my chinese XD

shout outs to all harry potter fans! lol yeah def, the common room dorms sound sick, but then so does any other suit :D when accepted..., man hopefully the decisions come earlier rather than later ..

Chandler: reading other books at the expense of AP lit books is practically the story of my senior year (so far I've gotten through Watchmen the graphic novel, and A Farewell To Arms instead of reading This Boy's Life). What's your favorite HP book? Mine's the 3rd

the interview went well! The women who conducted mine was very eager to share much about her experiences/her children's experiences at Cornell, along with general information addressing my questions. It was really easy to go off on a 15 minute tangent when asking about how personable the professors are, or about campus transportation.

MIND YOU ALL: that was merely what my interviewer had told me might happen: my word is not law in terms of staggering decision releases.

Somni: Cornell.edu says that if they do not have a portion of your application, they will contact you by mid-November, and then you'd have time to send it in. I wouldn't recommend re-sending stuff until they ask for it. You could call, but they may tell you the same thing.

darknight: Yeah, it's a pretty lofty goal but hopefully my schedule will allow me to achieve it. If not, then I'll be overjoyed as it is just to attend Cornell if I had the chance.

gracie: AP Lit... we read Empire Falls in the beginning (which was actually decent) but now we're reading All The King's Men and it's a horrible book. My favorite HP... hmm, I'm really not sure. I love any section dealing with Hogwarts/school-related stuff? But I think the 5th book might have been my favorite.

That sounds awesome, I wish I got an interview :/

Oh okay, I see. So the staggered decision release isn't set in stone? I really hope that it'll happen.

Cornell still says they haven't received my CSS profile... which I sent a long time ago and CollegeBoard said that it would send it to Cornell on November 7th. What's up with that?

Chandler: How do you know that they haven't received your CSS yet? It doesn't show on mine, the financial aid status link is always empty -_-

^mine too lol

Well...ski season's started up now, so I'll be up at the mountain and doing dry-land training a lot...should make the time go fast.

Thanksgiving next week! Which means 25 more days....

Chandler: we've been analyzing poetry while reading The Women of Brewster Place at the same time in Lit, but I'm still at a loss as to how to interpret a poem.

hey everyone. i got a call tonight from a Cornell student wanting to know if I had any questions. I applied ED to Cornell. what does this mean? I doubt they have a student call all 4,000 ED applicants so does the call mean i'm on the edge and they want to see if the phone call changes things? does it mean its a likely phone call? im very confused. anyone else get a call?

that's odd...I got an e-mail from an alumna who wanted to speak with me too...perhaps that's the same thing? Just because you don't have any alumni in the area, you got a phone call from a student?

did you do ED to Cornell?

playtowin....what college did you apply to?

I know HumEc students call or e-mail HumEc applicants to discuss their questions regarding Cornell....CALS used to do it, not sure if they still do.

The alumni contact happens if there is an available alum in the area. I just signed up for CAAAN...so excited :-)

I'm CAS, but the call was from a HumEc student.

Might have been a Cornell Ambassador....but I doubt that it will do anything significant (in either direction) for your application.

yes, I did apply ED

oh. that makes sense. thanks. is it bad that I didn't get a call for an alumni interview.

Nope! Don't worry at all. Some people are offered them, some aren't. It's due to availability of the alumni in your area. Having an alumni interview doesn't really give one applicant a push over another.

Well, actually, these interviews can't MAKE you but they really can BREAK you. Sucks, but it's the truth. I talked to my teacher who was a Cornell graduate (the fact is actually completely irrelevant) and has a close friend who is an ambassador for Brown Uni. Just make sure you don't present yourself as a freak and they won't immediately reject you. However, even if you're the most engaging person ever to be encountered, it won't boost you up that much.

gracie: Yeah, same. We had to write one of those AP poem essays on Tuesday on these two random poems... not sure how that went.
All the King's Men is succeeding in driving me slowly insane :P

I applied to HumEc ED and got a call from a HumEc student a while back, but I haven't gotten an interview.
I guess I'll just have to live with it, lol.

I haven't been contacted at all...about anything (except for applicant ID)...this isn't an ill omen, is it? Argh...so scared...

Don't worry, I haven't gotten contacted for an alumni interview either.
I did get a phone call from a HumEc student, but that was just about it.
