Yeah, Chandler, we've noticed you've been on a bit too much...lol

We're all on CC a bit too much. I wouldn't say Chandler is really on CC more than me, at least not by much.

I don't think I'd be as nervous about the approaching deadline if I never saw the other EDers around school. Out of the 7 of us (including me), I have classes with 3 of them and I sit next to one in English and you can bet it is pretty much all we talk about. The worst is when someone is like OMG I don't think I'm getting in my GPA is only insert amazing number!!111 and it makes me feel a little queasy. Now musical auditions are next week so I've got another thing to flip about...

I'm actually not on CC that ridiculously much, I just post a lot whenever I do go on.

I'm not really nervous because of the other EDers, I'm more nervous because of the odds and the economic situation, etc. and that there's a really good chance I won't be accepted.
I'm flipping out about how much homework/college stuff I have to do... and in the process not actually doing it :)

my mom's been bugging me to get a start on my Hopkins' applicationg, but I just really don't want to! I feel so bad filling out applications to other schools: like I don't have faith in my ability to get into Cornell. I'm definitely a person who puts all her eggs in one basket...but you know what they say about faith the size of a mustard seed!

How was everyone's Thanksgiving?

Yeah, my dad wants me to finish all my RD stuff but I've barely done anything over Thanksgiving break at all. I definitely put all my eggs in Cornell's basket.

It was decent, nothing special this year. At least I'll be home for Thanksgiving during college!

i think the worst part is that many of us who bank on getting in get lazy on our RD apps.
whats worse is i just retook my SAT and finally pulled the 800 in math but cornell wont see that in my ED app,, fml.
best of luck guys

It's okay. Every other post is by me too. and by me, i mean chandler ;)

Thanks a lot somni.
Yeah I got a 780 on the math section because I got none wrong and omitted one... I figured I wouldn't ever pull an 800 on it so I didn't retake the SAT.
Would a 780 SAT I math kind of cancel out a 640 Math I (I took it freshman year) for Human Ecology?

Yes. Cornell superscores. I forget where I read it but I definitely did read it.

Thanks for the info :)
But I meant the 640 as a Math I SAT II score and the 780 as the Math section of the SAT I
Sorry if I was unclear.

Ah, gotcha. I doubt that it's a problem. They should see when you took it. Plus, your earlier score isn't bad at all. It's the big picture, isn't it?

Alright thanks! Yeah, I didn't have another chance to take a math SAT II after freshman year because I felt it would be better to get good scores in other subjects.
Hopefully HumEc will see that I'm not totally deficient at math :P (I'm in Multivariable Calc yet I suck at the Math subject tests...)

what are you guys planning on doing during winter break if you get accepted ED to cornell?

I CANNOT WAITTT UNTIL THE D-DAYYYYY!!!!!

Go shopping with my GF before Christmas Day, ask her out on Christmas Eve, go to winter formal with her. Party + party + party + do IB geography and history homework. Revise my world literature papers one and two.

this thread makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. it's tangible confirmation that i am not the only one freaking out about the fact that december 15th will have a kind of important impact on the rest of my life, my happiness, and my prosperity.

I just got a call from a Cornell alumnus in my area for the non-evaluative interview. I'm so glad it finally happened- the alumna who e-mailed me originally never responded to my response!

Anyway, my thanksgiving was applications, applications, and more applications. now I get to cram days of homework into several hours.

How was everyone else's Thanksgiving?? How are we all holding up now that we've nearly entered the two-weeks-left mark?

awww shifu, thats so cutee hahah

locksleylady, i'm from canada so our thanksgiving was about a month ago. But I have to say, my weekend was filled with more and more applications, just like yours. And now i have to stay up all night doing school work. ughhhhhh i wish cornell would accept me sooner.

im not gonna fill out my apps for other schools until dec 11th.. lit ap is just WAYY too overwhelming, my teacher being the reason. c'mon, college lvl academic essays written in a week, 7 pages, no more than two errors per page max for A?

ahhhh!!!

i'm just gonna play guitar and eng eng eng till 11th =D

accept100,, from canada too? hahah yeah applications, Canadian unis are coming in too, with scholarships heh... life just doesn't get much easier ...unless that letter from Cornell comes XD man..

yuppp i live by toronto.
Canadian universities are definately coming up, i got my pin numbers for some application website (OCAS?) and everything. but i haven't looked into any of them. I feel like i should be applying to scholarships in case i do end up staying here for university, but with all the other RD applciations to do as well, I don't know what my priorities are. Life is busyyyy these days!

darknight, how are you doing in your grade 12 classes? in my school, everyones super competitive this year, all they do is study all day. literally. i guess it's because canadian universities base your acceptance on grade 12 grades only.
but i think it's kind of sad seeing everyone quit extracurriculars to save time for studying, to get the highest grade possible.
