I just wanted to hear some thoughts...so post the following:

What keeps YOU going? What gives you the drive to keep pushing and doing better for the SAT, school, tests, projects, job, whatever? What is your motivation to make your self work harder and not just give up?

And another important one -
What stops you from being LAZY?

Btw...don't give answers like "my parents will yell at me if I don't keep working", "I'll get in trouble" or "My laziness helps me to do well", however true those may be. :)

Okay let's hear the ideas/thoughts!

What I do - I think about how bad it would be and how much of a dissapontment it would be if I don't get what I want in the future just because I didn't work. I think about what a shame it would be if I had everything, the time, the materials, a brain - but I didn't put them to use in the right way and will end up like working n McDonalds and not going to college or something if I don't put in some effort. I know...pretty extreme, but it works.

for the SAT/school:
i actually like learning new things. it’s interesting and I know it’ll help me understand and comprehend and analyze more issues or general things that happen in our society. (mostly from a critical reading or writing standpoint, i suppose)

math on the other hand … i just force myself to review it because it’ll help me in calculus (somewhat)

oh and a routine. making yourself a plan for each day/week/month helps tremendously. otherwise you’re just floating around, studying in an inefficient manner.

I picture myself having sex with this one girl as a result of her being impressed by my 2400. Pitiful, I know.

^Lol that is so funny

I compare myself to my friends and see how dumb I am, that I need to catch up lol

just to be better than my friends for once

^ At the root of it, I think everyone on here will agree to that to some extent. Nobody aims for a 2400 PURELY to get into college.

lol I aim purely because my friends are brilliant and will probably get at least a 2350 w/o studying and I will continue to get a 2150… OR less

Well, the better you do in school, on your SAT’s, etc, the better chance you have of getting into a better school! And wouldn’t you want to go to a school with nice dorms, awesome people, great career preparation, and amazing opportunities? Well that always helps me get through anything haha.

my dream school
knowing that studying a bit more for the sat will help me get a better score and will in turn give me a better shot at the school.
