Your Good Buy Of The Day (Part 1)

I used my Whole Foods coupon yesterday. It was a little convoluted at the register but it ultimately worked fine.

jym, what do you need to do? I have never bought through Living Social before. I saw in my account I has some code number (not a bar code though). Do you just bring a printed paper with the code on it?

Yes, NEM, just print your voucher and bring it to the register. They will take it from there. The weird part was that it totalled the full amount and I had to confirm the full amount on the credit card pad-- only afterward did it then remove $20 (as if I had a gift card) and I paid the balance. It makes sense now but it was a little confusing at the time.

jym, thanks. I just did not want to bother wasting time shopping there, only to get to the register without the proper coupon/info that they require.

It was like shopping at costco. Spent much more than I’d planned :(

jym, I have shopped there, but unlike Costco because it is so pricey on certain items, I watch what I buy there very carefully. Surprisingly, not everything there is more expensive than other grocery stores. In fact, one beverage that I like is .20 cheaper there per bottle than any other grocery store. I have never found it cheaper anywhere else, even on sale.

I thought they were trying to get their prices more reasonable to get rid of the nickname “whole paycheck” that many call them. There was one cheese I almost bought for my s before he left for school-- 'til I discovered it was $25/lb! I bought this very yummy New Zealand cheddar instead for $4.99 or $5.99/lb (I forget). DS lived it.

shucks–missed that deal! oh well, not a fan of whole foods due to the major over-pricing. do like costco produce & pricing.

bought two cross-stitch pillows yesterday @ $1 apiece (no typo). this morning my sister (who also bought one) alerted me to the fact that her pillow had a typo on it, “THUSAND” not “THOUSAND.” I double-checked my pillow & mine said “thousan” without a terminal “d.” Fortunately, I was able to add a “D” so now mine reads “THOUSAND.” The other pillow read “PRINOESS” instead of “PRINCESS.” I was able to correct it so it now reads “PRINCESS.”

With the corrections that cost approximately 15 minutes and a little thought, the two pillows were still only $1 apiece! I’m thrilled! They will make nice gifts! Hubby was impressed that I was able to fix both. :)

Himom
well at least now you KNOW why they were $1
glad you could fix them.

Yea, it surprised me as to why they were so inexpensive–it was a trade show & lots of things were quite cheap. Not sure what my sister will do with her THUSAND–much tougher to fix that.
The two messages are “A friend is worth a thousand words” and “My Princess Sleeps Here” (all capitals for both pillows). We always tell D she’s a princess, so we bought that pillow for her & the other is for a good friend who always likes to send me things about friendship. We’ve been friends now for about 40 years–she lives in LA & I live in HI. Was pleased I could easily “fix” my pillows. :)

Anyone else NOT receive their coupon for a free steak at Outback? I had signed up both DSs and my parents but no one has received anything.

So far, I have not gotten the Outback coupon. I was emailed on 9/13 that I am getting one. We’ll see.

I stopped by a Talbot store yesterday, which I never do, but found they had a great petite section. I found a lot of nice pants in my size, from wide legs to skinny. Then a nice sales lady told me by buying 4+ pair of pants I could get 40% off. Ann Taylor also had a store wide sale of 40%. D2 bought a lot of blouses for work. Overall, it was a good shopping day.

I haven’t gotten the Outback coupon (or email abut it) either.

Stopped at 2 yard sales on a whim late saturday afternoon. Everything was $1. Grill was $1, full bed, clothes
all $1.

I walked away with a cashmere/wool Ralph Lauren coat 3/4 length for son, also Ralph lauren suit for son (will pay for dry cleaning though), brand new american tourister suit carrier, set of golf clubs and bag, picture of a tiger in carpet that was framed (HUGE), some fenton glass, 3 tommy hilfger shirts
$10 out the door!!!

Best shopping day in a while! Suit is in sson’s size, no need to alter waist or length and jacket is perfect. $1!! Brown wool, all lined, including pants past the knees. And the coat is so nice, cashmere and wool blend.

Kat
key was stopping late since they just wanted to get rid of everything, nice basketball hoop set-up was also $1!

Early holiday gifts.

Click steals and deals

Thanks! In for one of the bra sets! I have been wanting to try these and at this price can afford it. Would love to get in on one of those purses too. Sooooo tempting!

I’m confused. That brand of purses doesn’t seem to exist outside the Today Show offer. It seems they were made exclusively for the deal so who knows what they’re really worth.

edited to add - I finally found the website for Terzetto but it wasn’t easy. Not much out there about them.

For anyone that took advantage of the Groupon Canvas on Demand recently who wanted to use this for a holiday gift, be aware that there is a bit of a backlog right now. I just ordered mine and the proposed wait is three weeks. You can pay $25 for a rush. I anticipate this will get worse as the holidays get closer. I’ll report back on the quality when I get it.

Got my Outback voucher Saturday, 9/17, in Virginia.

Where is the Terzetto website?
