Was happy to find a good buy on a Sak purse at TJMaxx! I don’t tend to spend a lot of purses (at all- usually just pick up a purse at Kohls) but when I was in the market for a new purse and saw this one on clearance at TJ AND it had a sweet back “pocket” for my new Ipad I was sold!

The purse is on “special” here for $90+ dollars (mine is a different color). I found mine marked down to $54!

If anyone happens to spot a great deal on LG washers/dryers, would you post it here? Thanks! Our 16 yr old w/d are needing to be sent out to pasture.

Panhandlegal – I adore those cardigans from GH, have three of them. Great buy. Hey, you should join us on the Dressing Young thread sometimes, we often discuss Garnet Hill and other good deals out there.

Me too jym626! Hate to buy a new washer and dryer but I think I might have to.

Not a great price but still decent, I got an email from Pottery Barn today for 75% off some items. DD stole the comforter off her bed as it matched her theme for this semester’s sorority house room so that bed was going to be pretty cold for guests. I have a duvet here but the cover is awful so ordered a new cover for it. When they do have a sale things go fast! The first choice I made was no longer available and I got the email ten minutes ago.

Son and I have been winter coat shopping. He’s made do with hand me down coats from his older brother and father for the last few years for very cold days, but now that he’s in college in VT, I wanted him to have something warm but packable that he would wear everyday. We have an LL bean store nearby (not an outlet) and I thought we would be able to take advantage of after-Christmas sales here but could not find a semi-young looking warm coat in his size. Thought we could find one on-line and get it delivered before he left, but the ones he liked were back-ordered until March 14th!

Today we went to Bon-Ton and found this Calvin Klein coat [Product: Calvin Klein Men’s Bonded Ripstop Trail Jacket](<a href=“BONTON | Bonton”>BONTON | Bonton) The sticker price was $225, on sale for $90 and with a 20% coupon, we got it for $76.50. I’m not sure it’s really what we wanted but I think it will work for this season. He tried on, and looked good in, the wool button down coats but realized it wasn’t practical for what he needs right now.

Kathiep, years ago I got a great coat there almost 70% off after Christmas…was about 140.00 and I got it for under 40.00. They have great markdowns if you catch it at the right time.

My family ordered $800 worth of goodies for $100 from the Sundance clothing store thanks to a family member’s employee + winter sale discount… We are still in shock! No Sundance stores in our neck of the woods, but they have some really pretty/interesting things.

Yesterday I booked my DD a round trip ticket from Buffalo to Baltimore for a grad school audition (leaving and coming back in the same day) for $151 (including fees) on Southwest! I doubt she could have driven for less than that (especially since she would have needed a hotel room had she driven).

I want to thank everyone on here that told me about Southwest and their “No Change Fees”. I was able to book with confidence!

I saw these shoes when I was on a shoe-searching marathon with my mom in the fall. I thought they were cute, but not very versatile. Yesterday, I stopped by our RBShapp store and they were on sale for $99 - at $99 I can afford to be frivolous.

Update on the bathroom rug that I bought from Kohls…its going back. DH and I did not care for it at all. This is why I like a physical store front where I can return something. Debruns, are you keeping it?

We did need a new toaster, as our old one bit the dust right after Thanksgiving. So far I am very pleased! I believe this is the one that we bought (DH bought it and I am not sure what he paid for it, but he said it was inexpensive):

What I love about is the frozen function. I can take half of a frozen bagel and use this function and have it perfectly toasted without defrosting it first. Also like the “retro” look.

GW trip of the week. Brand new Chicos jeans $9.99, a Perry Ellis wool car coat with the $349 tags hanging from it…coral color really nice $39.99, and a Forrester’s Sportech Rain Jacket also with the tags on it…$9.99.

The rain jacket is actually for a friend who loves my $9.99 Goretex one. She said if I EVER saw anything good for her to just get it. I think $9.99 is pretty good. She will really like it, I think.

thumper - I have visited my Sal Val twice, and another one half an hour away, looking for bargains like yours and I just can’t find them! I guess it’s better if you are not looking for something specific, but just can’t find the treasures like you. :(

I agree. The clothes at my Goodwill look like they were purchased there, worn some more, then donated again. I’ve never found anything with the tags on, and very little of even medium quality.

Same here, but about 20-30 minutes away near my sisters, she has good luck. The difference to me, is that a very affluenet neighborhood is nearby, really a group of towns where the average income is over 250,000. She finds things like cashmere sweaters and some tag-on items if she looks often and learns on what days most things are put out. She has gotten a lot of great buys and to make extra money, she will buy some in sizes that are too small or large for her family, and then re-sell them at a consignment shop. (they love her) She made 200.00 the last few months which she used to visit her daughter in DC by train. I wouldn’t want to put in the effort, but she enjoys the thrill of finding a cashmere coat for 20.00 even if it takes her a few trips.

The Goodwill near me, has furniture that is nice, lots of books, etc. but the clothes sometimes look very tired, other times you see the item someone bought or got as a gift and just didn’t want but it wont be there long.

NEMOM, I only got half my Kohl’s order, the pants, the rug should come today. What didn’t you like?

It arrived with a fold in the center. I suppose it would sraighten out over time. It was also too small, which was my fault. My husband asked me why I bought a “potholder” for the floor. He likes a rug with some yarn, something that looks more like a rug. I tend to agree. I knew this was not going to be like our old bathroom rug, but I just did not care for the material. Yes, it is cushy, but it looked and felt cheap to both of us.

They sell those squishy bathroom mats in Costco and in Big Lots. Usually can get them (including the bigger size) at a good price.
