I’ll probably keep an eye out for Christmas presents.
I’ll be looking for a few things…coffee pot, wireless ear buds…all the things I’ve been asking about on CC this week!
And I do enjoy seeing what bargains there might be.
I’ll be looking even though there is nothing I really need!
We just bought a pressure washer… with our proven luck, guess what will go on sale on Prime Day?
“Prime members who spend $10 at Whole Foods starting July 11 through the end of Prime Day will receive a $10 Amazon credit to use on Prime Day, the company said Tuesday. Shoppers who qualify just have to scan the Prime Code in Whole Foods or the Amazon app at grocery checkout.”

^^ Good deal if you have Whole Foods and shop there anyway!
I’ve started keeping a list of items to search for next Monday on my work desk. I added a grill basket to the list today.
I want to see if they do the Instapot again. A nephew is getting married.
Since school has been out, I have almost lived the spending freeze life that was being discussed back in February & March. I wasn’t going wild then, but I didn’t completely freeze my spending. I just limited what I bought at the time to things that were on sale or promotion and that were on my “to buy” list. I would say I could stay at very minimal spending level I’ve been maintaining for summer for a bit longer, but the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale begins tomorrow for cardholders and I’ll be watching Prime Day for a few odds & ends.
I’m preaching on Dr Seuss books this summer. I just snagged a gallon jug of fluorescent green glue in time to make Oobleck. Usually $30 on sale for $4.50. Sunday School kids will love me. Parents not so much when I send it home with them.
So I spent $$$ at WHole Foods yesterday (and had a $10 coupon to apply to the purchase) and also, for the first time, used the barcode scanner thing in my Whole foods app that gives some discounts on items as an Amazon Prime member. So question: how/when/where do we see the $10 credit for Amazon Prime day? I don’t see it as a credit on the Amazon account in the “gift card” section. Anywhere else to check?
Athleta Semi-Annual Sale. Shop there before I do!
@KKmama I cannot tell you how much I wanted to make oobleck as a child many decades ago! What a great deal. have fun!
@Singersmom07 the instantpot is $79
My friend and I went to the mall this morning, not knowing today was the Build-A-Bear pay your age promotion. I could not believe how many people were in line. Hundreds of parents and kids waiting to get in the store. There was still a line at 1:00.
Build a bear promotion canceled due to chaos!
I got lots of “good deals” at the Nordstrom sale today. I ordered several things on-line, very early this morning, and then I went to the store in The mall. Got more stuff there. So much for my relative spending freeze. Apparently the on-line site crashed at some point. I suspect much will go back once I actually try things on, but I needed a refresh, so I’m Ok in any case.
Oh yeah, I found a $150ish cashmere and wool sweater at Athleta for $50, so that was another pretty good deal.
Yes, online site crashed and they are giving 10x reward points to those with orders today, so even though I was shut out of some pj’s for my granddaughter and had to pick the second choice, I’m still happy with Nordstrom. Ordered jeans & towels as well - nothing exciting, but things I need. Hope the jeans work.
Bought twin iPhone cable set from Costco. They stopped working reliably so returned them and purchased a new set—net cost of the new pair of cables, dual wall and car adapters was $3 (after $27 refund for the one which stopped working). I’m also happy that it’s no a mesh clad cable but tightly braided instead. It shouldn’t scratch the screens of the devices as the mesh was prone to doing.
Of course, all the packaging for the defective cables have been long discarded with the receipt. I just looked it up online and found the Costco item # and items it was sold together with, put them all in one plastic bag and gave it to Costco returns. Prompt and full refund re-credited to my CCard.
I usually get my facial cleansing wipes from dollar tree. They have these nice ones for sensitive skin.
Today I got several packs from the Forever Young line. They had rose, lavender, aloe, and cucumber.
Great just to feel refreshed while in and out on a hot summer day. All $1 each. I kept some of them in the fridge to keep them nice and cool.
Got 22 yards of flannel @ JoAnn’s for $2.10/yd. It will all be cut and waiting for me at the store. I didn’t know it was that much on sale (normally $7/yd) until 6:45 and the store by me closed 15 minutes later, so I just had to order online. Ordering online is very, very dangerous.
