Your Good Buy Of The Day (Part 1)

Labor Day weekend and that means sales. I found some nice things at REI’s sale…a Kuhl strattus skort, and Toad & Co Chaka skirt and summerdance dress. Headed to Eddie Bauer today for their 50% off everything sale.

Dillards additional 30% off clearance ! Got those NYDJ cropped jeans I’ve been wanting for only $35!!

Norsdstrom Rack Clear the Rack–extra 25 percent off clearance–through Monday in stores and online with free shipping for purchases over $100.

Was at Costco this morning and they had the nice lightweight (sort of the packable) down jackets from Eddie Bauer for $24.99. Don’t quote me if they were actually down but they were nice! Thin down material. Limited colors - khaki green, maroon, black. I probably should have bought one! I love my Marmot one and gets heavy use.

Quick stop at TJ Maxx this morning as well. Found this Zara embroidered skirt for $7.99! Now, it’s super cute and lots of details and IS my size but I would NOT wear it. Mini skirt and me not happening! If it’s wasn’t so short it would be really cute! Anyway the reason I bought it is my H has an eBay business so I’m going to try and make a little money off it and make it someone else’s cute skirt!

@abasket - I bet it will look very cute on you with a longish hoodie, black leggings, and boots.

Bought three sets of pjs from Macy’s half price.
$36 is sure better than $72.
Use WKND code.
People are having trouble with the checkout.
I switched to my iPad that has less ad blockers and after 3 days got it to go through.

@BunsenBurner your legs are better than mine I think!!! Even with tights I don’t know if I could pull it off - REALLY short!!

I had trouble with the Macy’s checkout just now. I disabled the ad blocker and it went through okay. Thanks for the hint. I wouldn’t have thought to check that.

Sometimes it helps if you change browsers too. Many sites are built to please google chrome, as much as I hate to use that one!

Well, Safeway has $5 lobster tails (previously frozen) plus value pack steaks—$5.77/lb NY strip, $5/lb top sirloin. Plus 18 oz blueberries $5. We ended up with NY & berries plus corn, $1 for 2 ears.

Zulily currently has a nice “dining” sale. I see some things that would make great wedding presents or holiday presents.

Got 120 FREE checks ordered by our bank for our nonprofit. It’s the 2nd batch of checks we’ve ever had.

Bought DH a new gas grill at Kmart - it was end of summer clearance and they were marked down 50% - 70% off. He had been complaining that our old grill (that was 12 years old) was seriously rusting out, only 3 of the 5 burners worked, and the side burner didn’t work. The new one was marked wrong, as reg $350, 70% off , now $175. I asked about it and they said they’d take 70% off of $350 so they charged me only $104. But DH noted that this was the model that was listed reg $580, so the mismark was on the reg price.

They also took SYW reward points so they took another $25 off, and added $50 worth of surprise points for next visits on anything in the store. DH used them for an 8 pack of underwear, 12 pairs of socks, 3 cans of tennis balls, and s2 boxes of trash bags.

So for $79 out of pocket, we got a great haul.

^^^ Kmart was the store we went to always as a kid - the Target of the 60’s and 70’s!!! None left around here - last one in the area closed a year or so ago.

My Mom was a divorced Mom in the 60’s and 70’s with a lot of kids. K Mart was her go to shopping place. I don’t have the fondest memories of the place. We have a KMart but it is closing in a few months.

Attention Kmart shoppers— part of the soundtrack of my childhood.

Aren’t Kmart and Walmart evil twins?

Sure do remember those “blue light specials” lol

When my daughter (now a lawyer) was very little, I had almost no money and my husband traveled all the time. Desperate to get out of the house, the two of us used to go to Kmart where I could get a hotdog “meal” for $1.99 and she ate free. We spent time looking at the markdown racks and she got outfits for about a $1. It was a hot night out on the town!
