I did our traditional day after xmas shopping with D2 today. She was looking for a black business suit. We showed up at Saks 9am and couldn’t find anything. We went to quite a few stores before we ended up at Bloomie. We found a Marella black suit for 50% off.
Henri Bendel is closing, so we did our final swan song. Almost everything was gone, so sad. I found a work handbag at 40% off. I got it because it had Bendel’s name on it.
I should be business suit shopping with my DD too! Great find, @oldfort!
Is the Lord and Taylor store totally closed??
@doschicos I actually do believe it is still coming. However, the original shipping tracking number that was issued showed it never reached USPS and when I waited several days and then contacted them with full information, they told me to be patient because custom orders take a while. I repeatedly tried to get across that it was an in stock (not custom) order and the issue was shipping. By the time they acknowledged that and reshipped, they used USPS again, instead of say overnighting it. They SAY they sent it 2-day, but a week later, USPS still shows it in transit. Now when I try to contact them, I just get form-letter type emails saying how busy they are. Poor business practice, as their busy-ness is NOT my problem and it is unfair of them to make it my problem.
Don’t worry, I’ll contact my payment folks if I don’t get it.
Ordered some stuff from LUSH cosmetics for daughter today BOGO. Online everything on sale soldout in under two hours so I went to the store and managed to get some things she was looking for.
I think L&T is still open, but will probably close soon. It is very sad to see a lot of my favorite stores closing.
Is anyone else having issues with the Cheesecake Factory egift card not being delievered? I got the two free slice emails but the actual gift card didn’t arrive in DS’s email. I finally got through to customer service and they resent it to me but it didn’t come through either. DS believes their gift card system is having problems and that it will all work out.
@marilyn I received the slices of joy but had problem gifting them.(They had the option to gift it instead of sending all to the buyer) I ended up forwarding my email to the recipient so that they could print it out. For the cheesecake ecards I sent I received a message it was viewed by the recipient.
NYDJ is having a nice clearance sale with up to 50% off items with free shipping. I took a browse in the section, put something in my cart and then left it. Low and behold they sent me an email for an additional $15 off (no minimum buy) - I went back in and scored a pair of Marilyn straight leg jeans for $44 shipped. Then I happened to go back later on a whim, clicked through the email again and a different $15 code came up so I was able to snag another pair of jeans with the code. This time for $33 shipped!
I rue the day someone on this board posted about NYDJ’s. They are the only jeans I will wear now and although they run long, a Petite is perfect for me. I am constantly on the lookout for good deals on them.

@raclut Thanks so much for the tip on the Macy’s sale on Lenox holiday ware. I enjoyed serving coffee in the mugs to our guests on Christmas. Also received compliments on the serving utensils.

@Maryjay60 I can’t wait to hear how you like them! Zulily often has sales on NYDJ as well and I have picked up many pairs second hand on Poshmark. I have a bit of an addiction now! I even love their shorts because they are so comfortable.
I’ve been looking for a short winter coat for several month because I don’t always need to wear my long down coat. But I still needed one that is super warm. Finally my search is over.
It was still pricey but I got $150 off.
I see that hood on a lot of new jackets. I am still trying to get used to it.

Was just looking at the Lord & Taylor site and they have some beautiful coats at very reasonable prices. Last year I purchased a beautiful teal woolen coat for less than $100 for my daughter to wear to work. Right now they are having up to 60% off with code DECEMBER.
I love the Pendleton jackets. Alas, in FL, I have no need for any of them.
I tried on the Pendleton coat in SF. It was very nice but I think I will have to stick with down and ski jackets—more packable.
