Your Good Buy Of The Day (Part 1)

Great deal, @abasket! I just checked online at NR and they’re not on clearance and ‘only’ marked down to $43…and they only have size 11 left. So you really scored!

The other day, we bought 4 chocolate lava cakes at Costco for about $6. Today they are back up to $13-14. They come with ramekins that can be baked or microwaved. Microwave 40 seconds, let sit for 1 minute and enjoy—yum!

Today and yesterday, Costco had cheese sliced for a tray—2 pounds @ $6.99: Swiss, havarati, Gouda, and cheddar. Perfect with some crackers and wine and perhaps fruit

I haven’t been out to the stores since before Christmas, but found a bunch of cute tops today at Kohl’s ranging from $2.60 to $7.60.

Today, I bought a fruit platter to a party—3 oranges sliced, 1 crunchy pear, 1 apple, some blueberries and blackberries, pomegranate seeds, and sliced dried figs. The platter was very attractive and munchable while being very inexpensive.

Also brought a sliced watermelon and sliced pineapple. Was able to get folks to take home all the fruit!

So many great options.

Sur La Tasble is having 60% off All Clad, Staub, le Creuset. Replacing my non-stock pans with All Clad, 8” and 10” for under $60 combined. Free shipping for orders over $59 with FREESHIP. https://www.surlatable.com/product/PRO-2758415/All-Clad+HA1+Nonstick+Skillets?cat=TCA-257763_Skillets

I ordered the It Cosmetics eye cream last night from Ulta. Half price ($19) and I used points and since I’m a platinum member, no shipping.

JJill had 40% off sale items, so I replaced several shirts and tunics. Retirement has meant much more casual attire.

Anthropologie has 40% off sale items.

Just snagged a bottle of the Lancome Bifacil eyemakeup remover for $15 at the Ulta sale.

I have a job interview tomorrow. On Saturday I was able to get a blazer and wool pants at Talbot’s for 40 percent off the sale price, plus 10 percent for being some sort of Talbot’s customer, plus another 15 percent off for reactivating my Talbot’s charge. I had kind of given up on the store since it’s mainly too preppy for me, but I had a horrible time at Macy’s trying to find what I wanted.

Good luck on the job interview @Barbalot

Go rock them, @Barbalot !

@Singersmom07, that’s not a bad price, but all-clad generally sells for less than the “suggested price.”
I think it’s the same price at Amazon, for example.

Papyrus has 70% off in stores. (better than paying for shipping online)

Yesterday we were at Costco with a friend. We found a bag of 2.5 pounds of spinach @$3. We also saw the clothes steamer I had just bought less than 2 weeks ago for $39.99 marked down to $29.99! I went to customer service and they happily recreditted my credit card with $10.47–no receipt required!

The spinach was delicious! I love Costco!

since some of you are mentioning makeup, my wife (and I) saw something really cool at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas today. The Opté Precision Skincare System is a handheld device for your face that applies the right amount of makeup and serum with pinpoint accuracy. Takes a few seconds and voila. Well, I have no use for it, but my wife was pretty excited about it. Not sure when it will actually be out for sale.

^^Backed by P&G ventures. Nice. I heart innovation that is not just an app.

Pretty cool concept. Professional makeup artists use airbrushing to apply makeup with stunning results. Home airbrush… no thanks. If this device is as simple to use as they say, I am buying it.

A tray of golden kiwis at the local H Mart - $22. Great deal! It will keep Mr. in kiwis for at least a week! (He eats 5-6 fruits a day. Please don’t lecture me that it is unhealthy. I know, but can’t win.)

Yesterday I wanted to buy a front door mat from Wayfair and I searched to see if anyone else was selling it and found Birch Lane, which is a subsidiary of Wayfair. But the mat was $10 cheaper there and shipping was only $5 (Wayfair was free shipping). So net savings of $5 from within the same company. https://www.birchlane.com/rugs-windows/pdp/beaupre-beachcomber-doormat-b000943298.html?refid=TEM_BL363325&mmid=2136800678&csnid=8DE9A4B6-B5AD-402A-879E-DEA51B11B803&libra_c=&libra_d=&libra_g=&cltr=&piid=1804637958

If you use stamps, buy the forever stamps now. The price is going up by 5 cents/stamp Jan 27. Biggest jump in history. I bought 2 packs at Costco, where you save a whopping 25 cents per 100 stamps. But I am all set for next holiday season.
