Anyone aware of a great deal for Alaska Airlines card? We will likely g9 there for my husband’s 60th bday (Summer Of 2020), so I’m thinking getting their card maybe a good idea.
Right now they are offering 40,000 miles with $2,000 purchased in 90days. I have seen better. When we signed up last year it was 50,000 and a free companion pass in the first year. The companion pass is $121 now. When we went to Hawaii on it we used the free companion pass and used the miles to upgrade to first class. They occasionally run deals to buy miles at a discount if you are short. You get a free checked bag for everyone on the ticket which is better than most.
For all of the NYDJ fans out there - they are having an extra 25% off everything sitewide. This includes clearance. I was able to get two pairs of shorts and a pair of capris for $85 shipped! Also, use Ebates for 5% cash back.
Bought the Eddie Bauer women’s atlas 2.0 travel jacket (lots of pockets!)regularly $130 with sale and coupon and military discount - $59.
Renewed my siriusXm contract for 6 mos.for $30. I took the advice of someone here and never give them my credit card. They charge $2 to invoice, but it sure beats the frustration of getting charged a ridiculous amount.
I remembered to use my $20 free at Talbots. Can’t have enough white tees, right? Mine was $6.30 Using the code.
Plus, I went to Ann Taylor at the mall, and they let me have the 50% off online was offering. Not a bad day.
I made sure to use my $20 certificate last week at Talbots for a bargain tee. Only, it didn’t turn out to be the very best bargain as the nice manager who is always so helpful asked me if I wanted to donate $5 to their Dress for Success fundraiser. I hope Karma rewards me for saying yes for once and that I win the gift card! I could use it to great advantage next month as is will be my birthday month and I’ll get an extra % off whatever the April promotional deals are.
^^I also used my Talbot’s certificate for a tee! My tab was only 6 dollars!!
Yesterday I got 22 yards of fleece (for blankets) at the thrift store for about $40. It was half price day and there was a just a ton of it there. Also a piece of Easter fabric for $5. Then I went to JoAnn’s and got some quilt batting for baby quilts for about $3 a roll.
Eddie Bauer has everything on sale for half off.
I got a free chicken today at Costco, plus $3 off fruit. I just happened to be going, so I took advantage. And since we had free chicken, we saved over $50, because we were planning to go out until I informed my husband we should eat salad and the free chicken.
But I spent $150 at Costco (better than normal, but not great). My son wants bday dinner at home instead of going out, so I picked up some rib-eyes and asparagus, plus lots of fruit and a couple of other things. (We would have probably spent $300 or more going out, so I guess that’s a good buy?)
Wait @1214mom How did you get the free chicken at Costco?
Yes, how did you score a free chicken - and $3 off fruit? I’ve never seen fruit or any produce reduced I don’t think!
They sent me a postcard that had 4 different offers over two time periods. The first was $6 off meat and something else (didn’t use those) and the second was what I got.
^^^ Never have I received anything like that!!! You’re special @1214mom !
I once got $5 off fruit in the store by giving them my email address (which Costco already had, lol).
I don’t think I’ve ever received anything like that either. I was impressed I remembered to bring it along.
As an aside, for Costco members, I really wanted more steak than one package, but not two packages, so I asked if they could help, because I thought I remembered reading they would in the Costco thread. They won’t do anything like that at my Costco.
Macys has a sale on women’s shoes with 40% off for 2+ pair or 30% off on one. Not necessarily such a great deal but I saw some shoes that I believe never or rarely go on sale. I also thought about CC because there were quite a number of pair that were appropriate for weddings or MOBs. I don’t always do well at Macys but ordered 8 pair to the store. I can try them on and return the ones that don’t work right then.
If you are shopping online at Macy’s today ebates is giving 12% cashback. (4/1 only)
Another tip for Macy’s. If you like an item on their website but it is not on sale put it on your list. (place in bag and move to list) Sign up then for price alert’s and then you will be notified when the price of the item goes down. I check my list every few days. Sometimes an item that is out of stock becomes available.
I had a cashmere duster on my list at Christmas time. It was $200 (out of my budget) but it sold out in two weeks and was never restocked. By chance last week it was still on my list and I got it on a last act price of $26.
Our Albertsons had fresh chicken breast from the butcher for 99¢ a pound. They are huge. I cut them up & now have enough chicken for 3 meals- all for only $5!
@collage1 thank you so much, I also ordered a half dozen pair, 3 of which would be for my S’s wedding in September.
For those who don’t bother with Ebates, don’t underestimate it. I just ordered a new mattress and should get $168 back, pushing my lifetime cash back to over $2000.
