I decided to peek on line again at Kohl’s since they have free shipping too (thanks @uwalummom) and they have a pair of boots that look very similar to a pair I have in a different color. I wanted a pair of lower heel black boots, so went ahead and ordered (since the store closest to me that has my size/color is 10 miles away - no thanks). So I ordered on line with the stackable coupons and the boots, full price (which no one pays at Kohl’s) is $59.99 My price (delivered to my home) is $13.99 plus tax. Plus I asked about the $5 I am supposed to get for instore purchases, but I can’t get these instore at the closer stores. With this purchase I amonly 8 points away from a $5 “yes2you” reward, so they put the few points in my acount so with this purchase I’ll get $5 yes2you credit. Not a big deal, but something.
One of my s’s is due for a phone upgrade and wants the new google pixel 4. He told me he can get a $200 discount if he does something to our family (business) plan, but not sure what it will do, so when he gets back from an overseas business trip we will have to explore. The thing I don’t like is it setting up a monthly payment pln ofr the phone. We prefer to pay all at once with the AmEx card and then have the purchase insurance with the credit card.
Popped into Goodwill in a town I am not often in. They get Walmart returns, apparently, to resell. Got a tower fan, a pewter-looking lamp with nice grey woven shade (new) and a poster-size wood frame for $15 altogether
Hey bedding experts, did I get a good deal? DH decided our master bed quilt was too warm (after using it in San Diego for 4 years). It’s old and worn so I was happy to replace it.
I found a king size Peacock Alley stonewashed coverlet at Tuesday Morning - $69.99 Comp Est Value $575. I really wanted a. queen size but it was the perfect weight, color, and design so I bought and it fits beautifully as a bedspread. DH is satisfied.
I can’t find the exact coverlet online but comparable ones seem to run in the $300’s on up. Did I get a great buy, or just a usual Tuesday Morning deal?
Sounds like a great buy to me, especially if you and dh needed a new quilt and love it! And, if the larger size looks good, a side benefit is that you don’t need a bed skirt
@uwalummom Thanks for the Kohls stacked coupons idea! I did it and my daughter will be surprised by a cute outfit to wear for her first Thanksgiving away from her mama
Just rebooked our same rental car for $70 less! We will have an intermediate car for 10 days in SF for under $200! We pick up the car in less than 3 days and I’m pleasantly shocked at how low our rate is!
Thank you Costco! Your car rentals make your membership a great deal for us.
If anyone sees a deal on Costco memberships please post here! D2 has this on her Christmas list! She lives in the same city as D1 so I could put both their names on it potentially.
Stacked some Kohls coupons to get a pair of Clarks shoes (full price $95 but $80 at the Clarks store and $ $68.59 on zappos) for $50 plus tax. I had to order them online (I’d tried them on in the store but didnt buy when the deal wsant as good, and then they were out of them in the store).
^^Obviously, that was supposed to be “received.” I was very happy that I did not order the detergent from Amazon. Also, got to exercise my muscles by lugging my laundry loot home on the bus!
Well, my 3+ week trip is turning out to be a pretty amazing deal. We got part of my plane ticket paid for because I spoke at a conference. We also had several nights of my hotel covered because I was a speaker. For some reason, the hotel has only given us a bill for 3 of our hotel nights (no bill for first 4 nites).
I needed to attend a meeting and leave my 1st City early, so a National partner covered H and my change fee, cost to add DC as a stop, plus two nights of hotel. I stayed with S the rest of the nights, so no lodging expenses there. Now we are with BIL at City 3, so no lodging and my car rental rate dropped from $267 to $197 for 10 days, so $70 less.
Since we have written to United.con about not having video on 3 of our 5 flights so far, we have gotten 6 vouchers totaling $700 credit for future travel!
All in all, we are looking to emerge pretty well financially from this trip. Best of all, we have remained healthy, gotten to see S, BIL and scheduled to see D very soon & Hamilton, plus had great visits at the meeting and conference. Will also see my MD and D’s MD.
^^^^ You must have a very wealthy conference host. And $700 of free air travel just because the tv wasn’t working? Can’t say that would happen for just anyone!
